Will this work to secure a solar flashlight to a dashboard - in the hot sun?

Wondering how difficult it will be to disengage the two squares when they are used in such a way as or leave no space (other than the thickness of the two pads) behind the object being held up. My particular item is a window screen on the outside of a glass vinyl window screen. Crazy, I know, but it the screen will dissipate a strong sun reflection off the window that is blistering my vinyl siding. Thanks.
They're very easy to disengage/separate.
it is not hard to remove.
