Hello Joe, No, this fan is designed only to be installed with a down rod. This fan comes standard with a 6-inch down rod. We do offer a shorter down rod of 3.5-inch in matching finishes. Sincerely, The Minka Man
I want to install this fan on an existing simple "on/off" wall switch. If I turn the fan "on" from the wall, and then set the fan speed and direction with the remote, will the fan remember those settings after I turn it off from the wall switch?
