Hello Joy, This kit can be used to rekey any lock with a Security/ ANSI grade 3 rating. All Defiant lock sets and some Kwikset lock set are grade 3. Schlage are grade 2. These units cannot rekey Schlage units. However the pins in this set can be used in some Kwikset locks. Each brand has specific tools in their kits for their brand locks. There are general kits on the market, however they may be missing the proper tools needed for rekeying a lock. Yes. Most Home Depot's have an associate on staff that can rekey door locks. Call your local Home Depot and make sure that the person that does the rekeying service is there before you arrive. Also there may be a charge for this service.

Yes, individual bottom pins for both the KWIKSET style and SCHLAGE style of locks are available. Schlage vendor # is 50906, and Kwikset vendor # is 40625. This should show you all of the parts available from these two vendors, including complete rekeying kits.
This will rekey any lockset with a KW1 keyway, which includes, but is not limited to KWIKSET, DEFIANT and WEISER.
The pins in this kit will work on any KW1 keyway. There are # 1-6 pins in this kit. There are not any #7 pins in this kit. This Re-Keys Kwikset style locks, and should not work with any other brand. the pins will also be sized for kwikset cylinders and don't usually match with other brands
A cylinder unlocking rod, two spring holding tools, several replacements for every part of the lock mechanism, springs, pins, rods, cylinders, brackets etc. this kit also works best when used with the kwikset/defiant family of locks.
This will come with everything you need to rekey a simple cylinder.
