    A:  No these switches are 16 Amp/125-Volt AC or 8 Amp/250-Volt AC.

A:  No, these are AC only. I would suggest going to an auto parts store for DC rated switches.

        A:  This switch has a 16A, 125 VAC / 10A, 250 VAC rating.

A:  Yes. The 125V voltage rating is the maximun voltage it will work with.

A:  The light should go off when switch is off. If staying on please unplug you may have an issue with something besides the switch.

A:  Swap your line wire and your load wire

A:  This switch should work for you. The problem is the instructions are wrong. Switch the line and load connections to the silver colored center and outside terminals and the light should start working properly. The instructions are for a switch with the internal light connected between the brass and outside silver colored terminals, which was the case for my original switch which I had to replace. On this switch the internal light is connected between the brass and center silver colored terminal. Therefore the 'line in' wire should be connected to the outside silver colored terminal and the 'load' should be connected to the center silver colored terminal. This way the internal light is connected in parallel with the load and will light when the load has power. If your wiring uses spade lugs it should be easy to rewire.

A:  Same in mine, stays on all the time. Outside of the vampire electrical drain, it doesn't bother me though because mine is covered by a panel.

A:  Yes thats what I used mine for the only thing is I had to make the whole a little bigger for it to fit but once the switch is in you cant even tell it looks like it belongs there.

A:  Please check the switch that came with your device. If the voltage and current rating of the switch you have now are the same or lower than the specs of this switch, and the type (single pole) matches, then it is ok to use in your project.

Q:I have one of those old Hirsh Saw Tables I bought off a church friend, and I'm working on duplicating it with certain modifications. The one thing I'd like to keep the same is the power box on it. It's toggled on & off by one of these switches. You plug your power tool (circular saw, router# into the power box, and it has an output plug to go to an electrical source #your house). Does anyone know where to get instructions on how to wire this switch to an input outlet receptacle and then to an output cord?

A:  Switches like this are designed as a bridge between the hot wires. The third tab is for the light (LED) in the switch. Once connected the light will always stay on. Number 1 is the line (Power in) and number 2 is the load (Power out). Number 3 is neutral (LED light). Connecting # 1 & 2 should be fairly easy depending on the tool you're connecting it too and if the wires are marked correctly.
