Q:How many can run on a 3/4 line
by|Oct 8, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: To confirm the amount of water available coming from the ¾” supply line a flow test should be done. Using any container with a known volume (like a 5-gallon bucket) see how many times the container fills in 1-minute. This will tell you about the available gallons per minute (GPM). K2 Pro comes with a 2.5 GPM nozzle pre-installed, if for instance there is 6 GPM available you could run two K2 Pro. If there is 12 GPM available four K2 Pro could be operated at the same time spaced out at 30 feet apart.

Q:Is this interchangeable with rainbird 3500/32sa housing? What I am asking is, can I swap just the rooter with existing rainbird sprinkler head.
by|May 11, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: You cannot take the "guts" out of the K-Rain K1 and drop it in the can of the RainBird 3500/32SA. The way they are interchangeable, is that both models have a 1/2" female thread inlet.

Q:How do I know what size to get for both the head height (4 or 5?) and the base inlet to the supply line? Are these things standard? How do I determine this?
by|Apr 6, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Sprinkler heads come in two standard thread sizes ½” and ¾”. The K1 has a ½” bottom inlet, the body of the head measures 6” without the pop-up extended. The pop-up extends 4” out of the body for an overall length of 10”. It is suggested that you measure one of your existing heads to see if they are compatible.

Q:How many sprinklers can 1 zone accommodate?
by|Sep 27, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The K1 rotor head has a 2.5 GPM (gallon per minute) nozzle pre-installed. If you have a system with 10 GPM available at the water source you could install 3 (three) K1 rotors using ¾” pvc to supply the first head and ½” PVC to supply the second two heads in the system. You will always want to leave some of the total available GPM untapped to provide for good working pressure.
All systems will have a different available amount of water to work with, to find out what you have a flow test cab be done with a 5 gallon bucket, timing how much water flows into the bucket in 1 minute. Then look online for the amount of water each size PVC pipe carries, and then match the appropriate size PVC pipe for the available GPM you have. Subtract 2.5 GPM from the available GPM for each K1 when designing the system, leaving at least 2 GPM in reserve.
