A:  It is a 3/4 inch hole with threads, but not the right threads for a hose, but you can easily find an adapter for about a dollar to connect to your hose. There is also a spike that a sprinkler connects to the top and a hose to the side with a spike to stick in the ground to hold it all upright.

A:  Hello: This Sprinkler has a 3/4" NPT(National Pipe Thread) threaded inlet, this is not the same thread pattern as a water hose connector, the best way to use this as a temp. system is to go to the garden shop and get one of the metal Sprinkler Spikes and mount the K8000 on this using a 1/2" PVC Threaded Nipple(3 or 4 inch work well), also you will need a 3/4" to 1/2" threaded reducer bushing to screw into the Sprinkler to facilitate using the 1/2" nipple, This Spike has Standard Water Hose Inlet on the side, screw this on the Hose first and the make-up the Sprinkler set up. This can be moved at will for portable irrigation. NOTE: The Spikes also come in a two-way model to make-up multiple Sprinklers.- Hope this helps in your task. TKX.- Roy.

Q:i'm interested oin installing this in my yard, is it an easy diy project?what do I need to get started and what are the steps to set it up

A:  If you are just swapping it out for an existing sprinkler, it is a very easy DIY project. If you have no sprinkler system in place, it is a major league project, with drilling a well, installing a pump, running underground feed lines all over your yard with electronic valves, all wired to an electronic timer box.... you get the picture.

A:  Plan it all on paper, buy a unit, measure it's length while connected to a pvc connector to know how deep to dig... You need to know what your GPM/water pressure.. to know how many heads to put on each zone. and when to drop pvc size down to 1/2" from 3/4" but maybe you should find a book on the subject and read it...

          by|Aug 23, 2016

A:  This is an diy project, all that is needed is a precision flat head screwdriver, which is used to adjust the distance of sprinkler distances.

A:  If you are watering an area that is at least 30 ft wide. The KRain K8000 is the best. If your on city water the pressure may not be enough to run more than 2 heads at a time, Need to check your house pressure . The heads can sweep from just straight shot to 360 degree. I have a large yard and my heads are spaced every 20 feet along my property line so there is overlap I have a well pump in the end of my dock so I pull from the TN river. Very high pressure. Im able to run 5 heads that deliver 30ft sprays Hope this help Bob TN

A:  Yes. I have 34 in my 1.5 acre yard. They are the easiest to adjust of all I have tried. Easy to replace when necessary but generally last about 5 years.

A:  I would not call this a professional sprinkler head, but it will work with any system provided you have the right water flow ,pressure, and proper installation ..

I just put 2 of these in to cover the back yard. The only reason I rated these good and not excellent, is that they are a pain to get adjusted. Once I got them where I wanted them, they are great. Word of warning- don't back out the flow control screw too far, it will spit the screw and the nozzle across the yard. Also make sure the the top is sealed correctly (mine loosened while I was fiddling with the adjustments) or you loose most of the pressure.

I've bought 3 of these to date, all to replace older Toro S600 gear-driven lawn sprinklers that no longer functioned properly. They work great. They're just a bit shorter than most other modern rotating sprinklers, which is perfect for replacing the older sprinklers, since most if not all of the newer ones I've tried are a bit too tall and protrude above ground level.

As with most of these products the quality is good. And will last for a while but eventually will need replacement at one time or another. These sprinkler heads have been most reliable overall and will continue to purchase them as maintenance is required.
