Q:will this rip 36" porcelain plank tile?

Answer This Question
A: Dear Josh, thank you for your interest in Rubi Tools. Yes, this will rip 36" porcelain. Manual tile cutters are designed to cut porcelain, ceramic, and glass tile and will not work with natural stone. Manual cutters are great in that they do not create dust and can get great results. Here are a few tips to help you with your project. Since Rubi manual cutters work on a score and snap principle, it is important to get a consistent score across the entire cut path and use the breaker at end of the tile near the fence. Never try to push the breaker down in the middle of the tile, this will result in erratic and inconsistent breaks in the tile.
Please check out the manual and how-to video on the product page. Thank you for your question and good luck with your project!

A: Hi Velvet, thank you for your interest in Rubi Tools. Although some people have been able to cut certain types of stone, the manual cutters are designed to cut ceramic, porcelain, and glass tile and are not recommended for natural stone tile. We would recommend a wet saw such as the 55907 Rubi DU-200 EVO 26 inch tile saw.
Thank you for your question and have a great day!
