Q:Where to locate the washers "catch" for things like dog hair?

            Answer This Question

A:  IF there is a screen inside the washer? it would be on the front side of the water pump somewhere? If you want to put on your own catch system, it would go at the end of the discharge hose. Here's where things get a bit tricky. There are Two common ways to discharge wash water. Into a laundry tub, or directly into a sewer/ wall fitting. A laundry tub is simple and straight forward. Just clamp a screen to the end of the hose. A sewer/ direct connect type is a little different. You will need to buy something made specifically for your drain size. (yes, they are made & sold). These typically slide into the "house" side. Then you insert the washer drain hose into that. Both run the risk of clogging. In a laundry tub situation, it will most likely come off into the tub. The other may cause the washer hose to come loose, and discharge onto the floor?
