I am restoring an old Colonial. Getting down to the final projects; like cabinets and trim. Based on how much more handling they get (compared to walls and ceiling), I figured I would use a paint specifically for cabinets and trim. The directions claim you need to use an undercoat. I used Behr Acrylic Alkyd (312733051). The undercoat claims it should be tinted to the color of the top coat; which I did not do, but wish I had. I ended up having to apply 2 coats. The first coat turned out very blue (see pic). The second darken it out, but the color was still more blue than I expected (I thought Starless Night I was a slate gray?!?!). Looks great in dimmer / non-direct lighting. The paint sticks to the brush well and has very little smell (VOC's); when wet or while drying. Being Fall, I already have my wood stove going. So, the air was real dry, and the paint dried extremely fast. Being trim, it took a long time to apply, but used very little paint. You may only need a Quart.

Behr feels so strongly about using a primer coat on ALL surfaces with this paint, that they included their suggested primer with my Seeds order (see pics). I tried everything out on a light green & pale yellow door jamb in my basement. Primer went on nicely, and didn't get tacky too fast for touch-ups on runs. Both primer and my selected paint color (bit of sugar) were a nice creamy white. Paint is a little glossier then you would think, but that's pretty normal for an enamel; it's also fairly common with most Behr paints, they tend to be a little glossier than stated. I rolled both paints on, then lightly brushed them out for the smoothest possible finish. Primer did a good job of covering. Paint seemed to flow and spread out very nicely, and was very forgiving to touch ups, similar to an oil-based enamel, so that was very good. Between the primer coat and the finished paint coat, covered existing semi-gloss coating very well...seems to be a good paint.

This color is more of a blue than I expected but nevertheless, my full intention was for me to use this on picture frames plus a back drop for photography. This BEHR PREMIUM paint is excellent for this project as expected. I have never yet had any issues using the many different colors from the BEHR Company. I even painted the whole outside of my large house some 12 years back using their exterior paint and it is still as good now as it was then, suffering the bitter winters of New England and the hot Sun in summer This product brushes on easily leaving no lines (perfect for frames and trims) the self-leveling is a huge plus. The picture that shows the full frame I have only painted half was down. The white board was a trial to see what the color finish it would be and is only one coat. I was impressed with the shipping of these cans as the plastic holders top and bottom fully secured them from any possible shipping damage. Reasonably quick drying with about an hour being outside and an hour and a half in the basement. There are many different companies on the paint market, but to me (and I use a lot each week) BEHR paint has always been reliable, easy to use and dependable with a very long life span.

Getting ready to repaint all the base boards in my house. After 22 years it is way over due. They have suffered all sorts of injuries and in bad need of special treatment to get them back to looking good. I am very picky about what I bring into my house, so whatever I was going to use, was going to have to prove itself on a shop project first. The picture shows a built in work bench the house came with when I bought it. It needed help back then, but I had a lot of other projects to work on first. As you can see it is in bad need of repairs and paint. I got a gallon of Behr’s enamel undercoating and this paint. I replaced the shelf, removed the vice for service and cleaning, repaired the bench top and stained it. Also replaced the missing base boards with some very old previously used ones, after all this is still just a shop. Now for the challenge, could Behr’s undercoat and cabinet paint really cover up many years of abuse. I included a picture of the cabinet after the undercoat was applied and final pictures of the project. Paint was easy to apply, went on smoothly over the undercoating, covered very well and dried with a smooth clean look. The color is a very bright white. This product earns it’s way into my house, but I kind of expected it would, after all it is a Behr product!

An absolute gorgeous color that is unique as well as durable. It's versatility makes it usable for just about any room in your house. It can be used for anything from wall, to trim, and even cabinets. It has a finish that looks like pearl. It goes on silky smooth with very low oders. Cleans up easily with just soap and water. Love the quality, durability, and look of this paint. You will too.

This is another excellent product by BEHR. Using their recommended primer, I tested the paint on a wood trim doorway painted with semi-gloss paint and a small section of drywall painted with flat white. Both were heavily stained with children's fingerprints, lipstick, crayon, pencil, ink and drips of dark paint. (Please see photos). I used a good quality nylon brush to test the leveling factor. I found the primer covered all the stains in 1 pass. (do not over work the primer, it is thick but dries quickly). I achieved a very smooth satin finish on both the wood trim and drywall with 1 coat and no brush marks. The paint is thinner than the primer, but covers and levels well and dries equally as fast even with a brush. I used a 1/4" nap roller on the rest of the drywall in the room and the results were the same. A nice satin finish with just one pass with each. Both primer and paint clean up easily with soap and warm water. 5 Stars BEHR.

Goes on easy. Dries fast and cleanup is a dream. Soap and water is all that is required. This satin finish enamel has just enough shine to match my file cabinets. I especially like a new feature that I have never seen on BEHR paints before. The can, lid, and bottom are plastic. No more rusty lids requiring you to dispose of a leftover can of paint because of rust flakes.. The quality of the paint is great and the can will outlast the paint now. As a long time user of BEHR, I highly recommend.

The Behr cabinet and trim paint comes in a 1 Gallon size with this color, #57 Frost Satin Enamel is good for the cabinet I choose to use. A good application involves cleaning and preparing the surface to be painted. I used a medium quality brush, although the instruction recommend a high quality brush, high quality roller or sprayer of a quality that is indicated on the instructions. The job came out smooth after applying an undercoat Behr product. It is a high quality paint satin finish.

The Behr Premium 1 gallon of paint in #57 frost satin enamel interior cabinet and trim paint is a good product when applied correctly and with a proper undercoat applied. The kitchen cabinet I used this product on came out great. The undercoat application was applied with a sash paint brush and allowed to dry overnight, although it is dry in a few hours. The paint coat went on smoothly and was dry in a few hours. Very nice stain finish. plans to complete the rest of the cabinets as time allows.Clean up is easy with water.

"BEHR" the best name in paints in my opinion. I received the Cabinet and Trim Satin Enamel, in the #PPU24-14 White Moderne color, that is going to give me excellent coverage and is self leveling. History repeats itself as I have used BEHR paints for a very long time and have found it to be an amazing paint.. I always get great coverage with a quality appearance. The BEHR Acrylic-Alkyd Enamel Undercoater is going to provide great stain blocking with an outstanding, even flow. The ease of application is never questioned. I have depended on these products and always will in the future. I get color perfection, fast drying, durability and so much more out of this product. Never a disappointment.

I am a big fan of Behr paint. I have been using it for over 10 years with not a single complaint. This primer is as good as any other Behr product that I have used. It goes on evenly, dries quickly and covers exactly as promised. The final coverage of this primer is good. There was no leak-through of any staining from the surface I covered as promised.

I am a big fan of Behr paint. I have been using it for over 10 years with not a single complaint. This paint is as good as any other Behr product that I have used. It goes on evenly, dries quickly and covers exactly as promised. The final color of this particular paint is good. Due to personal preference, however, I used two coats. The satin finish is also perfect for easy cleaning.

The paint was delivered nicely packed with 2 can in a heavier box with the plastic protectors on top and bottom of the cans. So don’t be afraid to order online and have it delivered. Overall the white trim paint covered as expected. The blue color is a bit dark so would look good in a larger kitchen or as a accent color on a center console. But can’t go wrong with Behr paint.

Here we have Behr Premium Cabinet and Trim enamel in a very light off white custom mix. I got this in a kit form along with some acrylic alkyd enamel undercoat, primer,. The primer purports to be stain blocking and should provide a good prepared surface to accept a nice smooth enamel finish. The enamel itself makes a hard , no stick finish so that your doors and drawers should operate smoothly without binding. This is a wonderful thing , speaking as one who has struggled with doors and windows painted shut. The can claims two hour elapsed time until the finish achieves no stick finish. I look forward to using this paint on some cabinet projects. Both cans say water clean up.

I painted my doors and cabinet doors in my garage with the BEHR Premium Black Satin enamel. The paint dried very quickly in less than two hours to a point of not sticking. It was dry to the touch in about one hour and can recoat after two hours. It was very easy to clean up with only the use of warm water and dish soap. The one gallon of paint covers up to 400 sq. ft. provided it does not soak into surface material being painted. Once it is fully cured the painted surface will resists dirt, grime, household chemicals and is mildew resistant according to the manufacture. BEHR provides a one year limited warranty.

Choose this BEHR PREMIUM New House White Satin Enamel Interior Cabinet and Trim Paint to paint my Kitchen Cabinets. Great Packing. Love that I also came with a undercoat and the paint is a Paint & Primer in One. Can be recoated in 2-hours. Easy-clean surface. Resists dirt, grime. Soap and water clean-up and Mildew-resistant finish. Can't wait until spring to use my new paint sprayer to paint them. It is in the 40's here, it's to cold to paint, and open the windows for ventilation. Does not state this is Low VOC.

BEHR Paint, Primers, Stains, Patio Decking Finishes, have always been a leader in my books. Have tried several other big name brands, and I always come back to Behr. This Interior Cabinet paint, is formulated for a denser application, thta will flow on and out nicely. You know this is a good product when its shipped with a prepaint/primer. None of that all in one stuff, never works in my book. Buy with confidence. OH, this paint & primer wher shipped incredibly well.

I used this paint on some out of date cabinets in my laundry room, and I'm very happy with the finished product. I used brushes and rollers and had good coverage on the cabinets after only 2 coats (brushed on first coat and rolled on second coat using brush for features/tight spots) after a good sanding of the cabinets. The finish is durable after curing, which can take a few weeks. As I live in a dry climate, the cabinets were dry to the touch after only 2 house. I put my freshly painted cabinets to use after just 2 days by putting a little rubber bumper on the corner of each cabinet door, so the painted surfaces do not stick to one another. The cured paint is stain resistant and has been easy to clean with a damp rag. The leveling feature of the paint was also exceptional and resulted in a quality final coat. If I was painting kitchen cabinets, I would probably put a couple coats of poly over the final coat but not necessary for laundry room cabinets.

    AVOID, this is horrible paint!!!
If you do a Google search of this paint according to the Home Depot results, this paint has a rating of 2.2 out of 5 stars.. once you click on it it takes you here to this page where it has a substantial number more 5 star reviews.. but anyway, the paint doesn’t even appear to mix well. It looks like egg-nog and is supposed to be white. It doesn’t even cover existing paint/primer or any marks/scuffs at all! Even after 4 coats what’s under is still bleeding through. It looks horrible

Not durable. Coming off in places after 1 month
Used this to paint our drab golden oak cabinets gray. Hired a pro to prep (TSP, sand, prime) & paint(2 coats). At a glance, kitchen looks 100x better. Up-close, finish is uneven & already coming off in places. Biggest issues: 1. Not durable! Just a gentle drag of fingernail removes paint. Can’t even clean up a splatter of marinara w/ a wet paper towel (paint comes right off). 2. NOT sandable (as pkg says). Just gums up the paper (even when fully cured). 3. Very hard to get a smooth finish.

Hi Cindy, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the finish you expected with our Cabinet, Door & Trim paint. It sounds like the paint may still be in the curing process since you mentioned it comes off easily with your fingernail. To fix this, I recommend gently cleaning the surface to remove any dirt and loose paint. Then, you can apply another coat while maintaining a wet edge to get an even finish. Allow the new coat to fully cure and harden before trying to clean or scratch it. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly for further assistance. They are always happy to help. Enjoy the rest of your day. -Christina Behr
