I have never seen a screwdriver where I needed to look for instructions to figure out how it works. The key is, you MUST use the telescoping shaft, otherwise your short bits will fall into the handle and there’s no way to retrieve them. Why cannot the cap be made removable?! The yellow plastic holder thingy with a magnetic ring is handy, but took a while to sort out. This isn’t a good design. It’s also expensive for what it is.

I’ve used it twice and it will not telescope any longer! Junk!!!

can’t retract the telescoping extension back in once it’s extended. is stuck at the fully extended position & I can’t get it to go back in & absolutely no instructions on how to fix this!

Great tool and has many great features

I've had screw drivers before and DeWalt's products are usually high quality. Now, being high quality, I mean compared to others that are Made in China. The telescoping does help as does the magnetic grip. Also, being that it can be interchangable with other DeWalt bits, it mean my options open up with my other bits. Only draw back is the the bit holder. It's not attachable to the driver itself, which means you can lose the bits quite easily. But I store my bits together anyways so not a biggy for me.

Just like with the other customers who reviewed this, the magnetic sleeve broke into pieces and that's the weakest part of this screwdriver kit. I would have gave this 5 star if properly designed.

Dewalt DWHT66567 Max Fit Telescoping ratchetin mult-bit screwdriver. Works OK but the tetescoping can drop the bits out. So I cut 1/4" off a Dewalt 6" bit make it 5-3/4 long (DEWALT 6 in. MAXFIT T25 Bit Tip Model# DWA6TX25-1, $3.97) and put it in the driver, so you don't lose the bits in the handle, my driver will hold 1", 2", 3" or 6" bits with out dropping the bits out. Work fine for me.

I concur with other reviewers. This product needs some more detail instructions. Dewalt, how about throwing together a quick YouTube video. I figured out the telescoping feature and can see how the magnetic screw holder coupler would work. There a 2in long “rod” with a Philips head on it that I can figure out for the life of me what it’s for. A little help?

This thing is a real piece of junk. Rachet mechanism quit working. Bit went inside and wont come out. On and on. A real piece of junk.

This is the first Dewalt hand tool I bought but I am very disappointed. In less than 3 months (I am a homeowner, not a professional) the telescoping extension bar got stuck inside the handle and no matter how much I tried, would not extend. I filed a warranty claim with Dewalt but neither the local HomeDepot nor Dewalt have it in stock. Meanwhile, I got an automated email from Dewalt that my warranty case is closed. So much for Dewalt quality and service.

Like SO many others, the telescoping feature stopped working. It's stuck in place, at its lowest setting.

Like others, the feature for which I bought this tool only worked a few times, and now it is stuck and unable to telescope.

The telescoping feature is cool, though it got stuck once and randomly got unstuck a year later. The ratcheting feature also broke after a while. We've had it for a few years but have given it very light use. The ratchet now only works in one direction. I would've expected more from a DeWalt. Sorry to see here that other users have experienced something similar as well with the ratchet.

I read another review by someone with a similar problem. Within a short period of time after buying this item, a bit fell inside and could not be retrieved. I see no way to open the unit to get it out and there is apparently no manual available. It looks nice, but is not usable.

Screw driver is nice, good grippy handle, ratchet is nice too. Telescoping shaft worked once and then froze. The telescope shaft was the only feature that made it better then other multi bit drivers I’ve owned.

Telescopic shaft is stuck. Shaft release will not move. Kinda junky…

Great tool to keep near as a great help for small jobs; specially around the house.

The telescoping feature is a joke. There is no way to securely lock it in place so one good push on the screw and the blade collapses into the housing. Another screwdriver from Dewalt that’s a piece of junk.

I like the screwdriver. I wished I could store bits inside the screwdriver.

it works great but if you hit the back of it with any force your going to brake the locking mechanism for the telescoping shaft. other people going in my bucket without permission have broken 3 of them

Wish there was an actual small storage container for the nibs.

I purchased this new screwdriver, as my old multi-bit was dull. This is a lifesaver! It’s easy to use and made putting together my new coffee table an effortless project. Highly recommend

This is a very nice screwdriver

Bought this rachet screwdriver yesterday. No directions. Seemed quite straight forward but couldn't figure out what the shiny metal thing that looks like a screw without threads was to be used for. Called Dewalt. Gentleman explained its use.....I could tell he didn't know either. From reviews I have concluded that it is just an extra piece of metal. Thank you Dewalt!
