This faucet was installed new in early 2015. We liked the faucet. It looked nice and served us well to a point. The original valve failed a few years ago. I contacted the Delta and went through the steps to get a replacement shipped to me. I installed the replacement valve, and all was well. The replacement valve did not last as long as the original. During summer of 2023 we began the task of getting the handle just right so it would shut off completely. It now will not seal off and leaks a very steady stream. My faith in this product is damaged.

It’s great that my Delta faucet has a lifetime warranty but this is the third time since 2017 that I have had to replace the cartridge with valve assembly. Since I have to pay someone to do the replacement for me, it feels like I am paying for this faucet over and over again.

I am replacing this cartridge in my Delta kitchen faucet (9178-SP-DST) for the 3rd time since it was purchased in 2020. They last maybe about 1.5 years. The faucet operation stiffens and starts to drip nonstop; then becomes impossible to shut off. I also have this same mechanism in two other Delta bathroom faucets (15999-SS-DST) and one is starting to dip as well. I think they redesigned the original design, but I am unsure what version I have. The problem exists and replacement, while easy, is frustrating. I feel I will stay away from a Delta product when I make my next faucet purchase.

This is replacement cartridge to the original that came with the faucet I believe that it should have lasted longer because delta is generally a superior brand with an excellent product line Oh well

Works well when new. Second one I had to purchase in two years. Last one worked for about 18 months until it started leaking..

It was packaged like new, however the cartridge was not functioning when I replace it .

The replacement part was perfect for my kitchen delta faucet and I was a hero in my home -nice when that happens!

This cartridge replaced a generic one put in place around Christmas 2022. If failed fast while this one feels like it should. I hope it lasts longer.

I didn’t realize it, but when discussing my problem with Delta cartridges with a plumber, I was told Delta is known for inferior parts. According to this source they are poorly engineered and made with cheap materials, so they fail often. Unfortunately when they’re built into your house….you are stuck. Caveat Emptor.

Easy fit. Stop the leakage immediately but!!! Be prepared to replace it every other year !!! Way Overpriced for such a short lived part!!!

It fixed the leaking problem but the price was expensive. Almost $44.
