I bought this harness kit because I go up on my roof a couple times each year to clean the second-story gutters. It's very easy to use and I felt much safer with the harness on. The only drawback is that it comes with a TEMPORARY roof anchor that you have to install and uninstall each time. To do that properly, you need to peal up the ridge cap shingles and nail/screw the anchor directly to the wood itself, then remove the anchor and replace the shingles properly. That's a lot of work to do several times each year, and it adds a lot of holes to the roof. To avoid all that, I bought an additional PERMANENT anchor (same brand) from Home Depot for about $20. A permanent anchor lays flatter across the ridge cap and can be permanently installed under the shingles. I hired a neighborhood roofer to install that permanent anchor for $150 - well worth the extra cost to not have to deal with installing/uninstalling that temporary anchor each time (I recommend watching some YouTube videos to learn the difference between a temporary and permanent roof anchor). Aside from that, this was a great purchase and I highly recommend it for ease of use and extra safety.

Comes with everything you need, fully adjustable, it’s a little tricky but I can hook and unhook myself without any help (the rope hooks onto a ring on your upper back). The rope is nice and thick, plenty long for about any roof I’d imagine. I have a 7/12 pitch, this gives me peace of mind.

I used the safety harness this week to paint the overhang on a two-story house. The instructions were easy to follow and contained illustrations. The harness was easy to put on, attach the roof anchor, and operate the safety line rope grab. I would not have attempted the job without the equipment.
