The piping works great and is easy to connect by...
The piping works great and is easy to connect by following the instructions. I had no leaks after pressure testing it. The only complaint that I have are the limited number of fittings. I had to go through all the boxes that were stored very high and hard to reach to find the last two fittings.

The CSST concept is great but the likelihood of a lead is much higher. I have installed many black iron runs of gas pipe over the years and never had a single leaking joint. I used both the 3/4 and 1/2 on a relatively simple run with 8 fittings resulting in two leaks. I will admit I was not using the Homeflex cutter. Instead I was using another cutter, which did have a flexible pipe groove but found that the cut must be extremely precise. Over tightening also seems to be a big problem with these fittings.
For my connections, leak free tightness is only slightly more than “hand tight”. This makes me concerned about the system remaining leak free over time. In the future I will stay with the inconvenience of black iron.

I am sorry that you are not satisfied tncastor. Please review the HOME-FLEX CSST System Design and installation Manual. The fittings need to be tightened properly. Hand tight is not sufficient. As you tighten the nut, it will cover the threads on the fitting. You need to tighten the nut until all of the threads have been covered by the nut. This will take a fair amount of torque. 62 lb-ft is specified in the manual. Is it possible for you to give me a call? I would like to have the opportunity to assist. (661) 257-3923. Yes, the gasket is a one time use gasket as described in the HOME-FLEX System Design and Installation Manual. If you have to open up the fitting, you will need to put in a new gasket. The Home Depot sells the replacement gaskets under Internet #300388011 or
