Very easy to install; the 10 year built in battery means no changing batteries. Works with my current in-house detectors with audible alerts.

Easy to install, replaced the old one because it was 10 years old. The new one just plugged into the old plug so I didn't have to re-wire it and the base fit the old mounting plate. I was done in less than 5 minutes. Good for another 10 years. I tested the new unit and the alarm is loud and the verbal instructions are clear to understand. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to replace their's, especially if you are replacing an old Kiddie.

Box had been opened, obviously a return. Doesn't seem to work right. Really, Home Depot-putting returned merchandise back and re-selling?

Easy to install. - just 3 wires - power (hot), neutral and signal to the other unit(s). Took less than 5 minutes once you get the ladder, screwdriver and all the tools out. The "bump" on the back of the unit makes it kind of hard to get into the junction box if your box is full of wires, but just push harder and they'll go in just fine.

This is a great brand but I installed two of these in October and had 3 false alarms within two weeks (of course this always happens at 2am) I returned for a different model

The backside protrudes more than the Kidde product that was previously mounted. If you have lots of wires in the ceiling cavity, it may take some doing to mount this device. Second, the ambient ring only illuminates when there is very strong light. Otherwise there is a small green LED that flashes every 60 seconds, indicating the device is working properly. This is contrary to the manual but I spoke to Kidde support and they assured me the ambient ring not illuminating in the daytime was normal.

I had my friend, a professional, electrician, install and wire smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector. It was easy to install and works great.

The alarm works just fine. The only complaint is that it comes with a pony tail wiring connection rather that having the unit plug directly into the feed from the house wiring. That extra wiring harness makes it very difficult to shove the wires back into the ceiling box to allow for its installation.

Our Smoke/CO2 detector was beeping - unit needed to be replaced. Called Kidde - they gave me the unit number that would replace it - and told me Home Depot had them. Ordered - picked up and in within 3 hours...A quiet house was once again attained - and the cost was reasonable. Thank you!

Works very well. Easy installation. Note that the new detectors have a hump on the back, so you need to get into box and clear a path by pushing wiring out of your way. Also, although the new plug has same pin pattern as the old one, it doesn’t snap into place as solidly if you are using old connector. I wired in the new connector on some, then I realized if I just cut off the extra “flat piece” from old connector, it made a much more solid connection. To be sure, I used a zip tie to be sure they couldn’t come apart. A little overkill, but takes a minute to do.

It’s very expensive up front , feature rich supposedly and lasts 10 years so I guess that makes it okay.

Still too sensitive to regular cooking in kitchen!

Easy to install. The bulge on the back side pushes into the electric box. Would prefer that it did not have that. It means you need to push the wire nuts for the connections out of the way. Make it a little higher instead of adding the bulge.

Don't buy this overpriced garbagé! Didn't work for me.

Bought four to replace older Kidde KN-COPE-1 detectors. Less than two hours to purchase, drive home and install. Only issues were wiring harness which was slightly different from ten year old model, so had to rewire each. I agree with comment as to bump on back and small boxes, however, I was able to get them to fit. Activation process was easy and have not had any false alarms since activation, quite happy with these. The ten year battery certainly will make my life a little easier.

Harder than usual to mount because the back isn’t flat—it has a large bulge that extends into the mounting box. Also, in a dark room the light ring isn’t lit, so the only way to verify that it has AC power is to shine a flashlight on the photo sensor until the green ring lights up. Not many models are available these days, so I had to go with this one. It works, but the design “features” puzzle me.

Great product. Much better than the old Kidde
