The tool feels cheap and last time I ordered from home Depot for delivery they gave me another defect tool, and it didn't even come with the leather sheath like in the photo. instead it came with his plastic garbage

Good basic cutters for a good price. They are well made and good for doing jobs with thin metals. They are not intended for thicker metals as the blades would bend but good for the non-professional user who may need these for a home project or two. They are your basic cutters, so really good for those who just need something simple for an easy project. The handles are thicker so feels better when clamping down hard on the hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this tool daily it’s plus to only have to carry this instead of duct knife and wire cutters when in the attic installing flex duct.The knife art is extremely sharp and cuts threw flex with such ease and the wire cutters are extremely sharp and cut wire with little effort! In my opinion any hvac installers should have this tool . Way go Klein tools another great product again !

Klein has done it again with this tool! For those that have cut fiberglass flexible ducting with a razor knife, then found your wire cutters to finish the job, this tool is a real time saver. The double edged blade is extremely sharp and will cut you if you are not careful! Because of that though, it cuts through ducting with ease and speed, and when you get to the wire, just slide it down the handle and snip the wire off. The making of a good tool is in making your job easier and quicker, and this one does just that. Worth the cost if you have a lot of duct work ahead of you.

This Klein Tools duct cutter with wire cutter is a great quality tool which makes cutting flexible duct and fiberglass duct a easy job. The wire cutter snaps the wire support on a round flexible duct easily and efficient using this one tool. The tool comes with a flimsy thin plastic sheath which is not any protection at all and if dropped it could damage the blade or anything it hit. I would use it in a leather tool belt pouch or leather holder for better protection. The blade is quite sharp and cuts the duct work with ease. The grips are a good fit and have safety stops on the ends to prevent your hand from slipping toward the double sided blade. It has a convenient latch to keep the wire cutter closed when not in use. I do expect this tool like all Klein tools I have to last for many years of use. The warranty states its warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the normal life of the product.

Excellent tool! love the design of the tool. it really is a heavy duty piece of metal that cuts through the sheet metal like butter. I used It on some duct work in my basement to get some more heat into certain areas that were cool and it worked great! I also cut some wire just to try it out and it worked great too! I will keep this tool in stock in my toolbox.

Receiving this tool in the mail was perfect timing since a reputable contractor, working at my home on a large scale project, was able to add into my opinion concerning this product. We agree that this is a good tool made by a great company. It fits in any size hand and is easy to work with; good weight for handling and a sharp longer blade. When squeezing the handles, I noticed that they do not appear to be as durable as expected, so it's difficult to judge how long this cutter may last. Also, a very thin plastic case fits over the blade for storage. Be careful since it will tear easily.

I just got this Duct Cutter with Wire cutter, #89554 by Klein Tools, to help with the installation of round flexible ducting on an AC installation job. This cutter is very sharp and very efficient for the special task it was designed for. It comes in a soft plastic sheath. There is a leather sheath offered for it, which is a needed accessory, but I have been unable to obtain one. I tried to contact Klein Tools, and have not heard back. Other than that, not a deal breaker, this is a great addition to my tool arsenal.

It came out of the box looking great. It's typical Klein construction so I know it will last a good, long time. It does come with a sheath which is pretty flimsy so I wouldn't plan on it lasting very long at all. I happened to have a sheath for a hand saw that fit it pretty good. The tip is sharp and somewhat pointy. I would recommend finding something to put it in. It cuts through duct and the steel banding as if it were butter. I'm trying to be very careful not to abuse the blade. I used it on a metal dryer vent hose too and it didn't hesitate a bit. I should have bought one of these years ago. Best I've ever used. It snaps through fiberglass ductwork like it's not even there. Great clean snaps. Be sure to protect the blade like I am to avoid sharpening it too much.

This duct cutter is very high quality and works perfectly. The blade was a little wobbly when I first took it out of the package but took a wrench and tightened the two locking nuts that hold the blade to the handles and it took the slack out without affecting the action of the wire cutter. The handles are comfortable and shaped to guard your hands from slipping. The blade is a good length and very sharp. Though it comes with a vinyl sleeve to protect from the blade, I highly recommend the Klein Tools #5100L leather tool pouch to carry this tool safely.

This Klein Tools Duct Cutter is a must have essential when working with flexible round duct work, duct wire and tinplate type materials. With a soft feel, contoured, hardened steel handle, shaped and large enough for a bigger hand, and a 6 inch double sided blade, with a one inch nipper, it is the ideal tool for this type work. The blade would also cut fiberglass duct work, and duct board. A quality tool, for quality work.
