Three weeks in and am a little nervous...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this top load after having LG front load for 13yrs! The first adjustment for me is having to move the clothes around after wash cycle so machine will not be off balance during spin (you can hear the drum starting to ‘bang’ as it begins cycle of a larger load). This happened a few times the first week- which I believe is partially due to learning the top load aspect vs a front load machine. After the first week (I wash on average 10-12 loads a week), I realized(trusted the machine) does self balance. You cannot just throw the clothes in though- the manual does suggest the best way to lay the clothes in the drum- important step!!! This made a huge difference! Also, I learned that I cannot put as much in to this top load as I was putting into the front load. Which is the difference between 5 pairs of pants instead of 7-8 pairs. At times there is a squeaking sound as the wash cycle starts- when the drum starts to spin to ‘read’ the weight of the load before cycle actually starts. So I am hoping it is because it’s new...really hoping. I will give it another couple weeks, then call customer service (btw, the machine is level). This machine features a touch screen, which I am also adjusting to. It is sensitive and easy to use. Overall- I am happy, but nervous about the longevity of it due to the self balancing feature and touch screen. Both of these you cannot see in the store.

I really wanted to love this washer. I have three LG TVs and have been very pleased with them. Unfortunately, I did not have the same positive experience with this washing machine. For starters, the tub moves around so much that you can see it bulging out of the back of the metal shell. It also made a really annoying squeaking sound when it was bulging. I adjusted the back legs to a higher height (even though the washer was level) and it eliminated most of the squeaking. Much worse, after doing just a few loads of clothes, I realized the washer was tearing and making holes in my clothes (pictures attached). The damage in the pictures came from washing six shirts on the Normal Cycle. I am extremely disappointed in both the washing machine and the process for returning the washer and being compensated for my damaged clothes. I would not suggest buying this washer, but perhaps mine was just a dysfunctional lemon. I would strongly encourage anyone that buys this washer to run every cycle within the 48 hour return window to make sure it doesn't damage your clothes.

      Excellent washer!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this washer a couple weeks ago due to the spin motor breaking in our old one. I’m so glad we picked this LG washer because it is much quieter, you can fit more clothes in one load of wash and it is al together much more efficient.

Great product! I bought this machine to replace a 2 year-old competitor’s model that wasn’t getting the job done. Capacity is HUGE. Oversized comforter? No problem, room to spare! Pet hair? Gone! Noise? Quieter than a church mouse! By far the best washing machine I’ve ever owned. Beware though, the tub is DEEP so reaching the bottom may be an issue if you’re vertically-challenged.

The LG Washing Machine Model #WT7200C has a very attractive graphite finish and a stylish looking appearance. It has an extra-large stainless steel tub. There are three dispensers two of which are in a draw in the rear of the tub which hold the laundry detergent and the fabric softener. There is a dispenser on the left side which is for chlorine bleach. It has seven wash cycles to choose from or you can use the custom option to modify a cycle. There are other options as well such as extra rinse and water plus. When you choose a cycle the lid locks and you cannot add any garments until the add garment light illuminates. An excellent water saving feature is that the washer senses how much time and water is necessary to clean the amount of laundry you have in the tub. For the short time I have used the washer it has performed very well in cleaning my clothes. There is an end of cycle melody that sounds when the load is finished. The washing machine is fairly quiet. It is also recommended that you clean the tub once a month per the instructions in the manual.

This is a great looking washing machine that has a huge capacity (5.0 cubic feet) and numerous setting. The graphite steel is a great color look and has very clean lines. The washer does a great job on numerous fabrics. The really great thing about it is that my wife loves it and since she does most (but not all) of the laundry if she's happy thats all that matters. The washer is very quite and the spin cycle is quite too but getting it level first is very important. Home Depot delivery brought it in, hooked it up, leveled the machine, and then started the first cycle. They made sure everything was working correctly, then hauled off my old washing machine. They made this delivery and install very painless.

First experience with one of these agitator-less top loader High Efficiency washers. It does seem like they don't use enough water but things get clean and smell good so the method works. Instead of sloshing around in a pool of water these are designed to use friction between the items moving around in the tub to wash. The noises it makes are different than old style washer and it is quieter but don't expect a silent machine. The washer is level with all feet touching floor and no rocking but during some cycles that use a lot of spin there is still some shaking and related noise. Be nice if it was a bit more steady but I guess it's hard to ask for perfection in that regard at this price level. One thing that was disappointing is the smart(wifi) function. It simply does not work. With the LG Smart ThinQ app when I try to connect to the washer it prompts for the password but it will not accept it. From the reviews in the iOS app store this is a problem a lot of people are having. So if you are buying this in part for that functionality temper your expectations and assume that that feature jsut doesn't exist.

I love my new LG washer. First impressions, stunning appearance and easy to use. It is whisper-quiet, cleans even tough dirt and is gentle on clothes while being energy efficient. The design is a big improvement over the washer we removed. The large stainless steel drum is a big plus along with top load. There are the correct amount of settings without being too complicated. I have a feeling the speed wash cycle will be the one I use most. It does a good job in 30 minutes. I do wish I could choose hot water with this setting. I use hot water to cut dirt and light stains. Normal setting allows for hot water. I have already washed my King size comforter and it came out without shifting the material. It does take a long time to dry but since I only wash the comforter a few times a year, that is fine. Large loads can still get out of balance (rarely) and you have to manually lift the clothes and adjust before it will continue. The technology from measuring the weight of clothing, adding the correct amount of water to clean, music when load complete and WiFi. The owner's manual is precise and easy to follow. I look forward to doing laundry and learning more each day of use. Home Depot delivery team did an excellent job on delivery and installation. I could not be more pleased, I would recommend this product.

This washer is replacing a 3-year-old LG washer, and seems to be more efficient with some "tweaks" that address some of the minor issues that I had with the other washer. There are more features, including the ability to program washing modes, if desired. The older washer left water standing in the detergent receptacle. The new one does not. That's a minor issue, but noticeable. It also uses more water than the older one, which is a welcome tweak, providing better rinsing action than the older washer. Overall, I'm very happy with the performance of this LG over my previous one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this model 6 weeks ago and it has already broke. The agitator disc is connected to the drive motor via a plastic spline on the disc to the metal spline on the drive motor. The plastic spline stripped. It took 3 weeks to get it repaired. The repair will not resolve the issue as the issue is in the design.

I love this washer! I wasn't sure about the water sensor...whether it would fill with enough water. It does fine. I can also pause the machine if I need to add something which was another concern. My laundry is light soil so I can't speak to heavily soiled clothes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had it barely 2 months and luv it. I luv how large the tub is how many water Temps and the Special Care options. I've added a photo cause I'm sure it's not suppose to be damaging the lid. When the lid opens it hits that silver piece sticking out. It's gotten chipped from hitting it

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE...or ANY LG for that matter. I have only owned this machine for a little over a month and it shreds laundry. There is a sharp plastic rim at the top of the metal drum that can snag items. Once something catches on that, a chain reaction occurs in the machine...the drum can go off balance and continue to destroy the items in the wash. I contacted LG directly and they blamed the issue on me, claiming I must have had a zipper catch or I overloaded the machine. This was not the case at all - there was no user error! I even followed their manual as it was a new machine! Mr. Blake in Product Liability refused to acknowledge the sharp part and passed the buck. I had a repair guy replace the shredded part, but LG refused to reimburse me for the damage done to my laundry. What good is a washing machine if you can't wash anything in it??? BUYER BEWARE

Great washer for large loads of bulky items!
DISCLOSURE: I received the “LG Electronics 5.0 cu. ft. Top Load Washer in White, Model # WT7200CW” free from Home Depot’s “Seeds” program. Home Depot only asked that I provide an honest review. OVERVIEW This is an attractive, modern looking, washer with a lot of nice features such as the glass lid, automatic load and soil sensing, and an app for your smartphone to create custom cycles and alert you when a load is finished. It’s also large capacity without a tall central agitator, so it easily fits large items like comforters. There are some drawbacks to that big tub, especially if you’re short - it’s hard to reach into! At 5’ 2” my wife found it very difficult to unload items from the bottom of the tub. Also while it excels at large loads, it didn’t seem to get small loads as clean as the 2-year old washer (with standard agitator) we used for comparison. And despite the very low profile agitator, it still managed to twist clothes into knots. It claims to be energy efficient, and it certainly uses less water than the old washer. It also does a really good job of spinning the water out of the clothes so that the dryer doesn’t have to work as hard, further saving energy. A couple of gripes: It never seemed to use really hot water, even on the hottest setting - the temperature was about that of a comfortable bath, not the almost-too-hot-to-touch temperature of the comparison washer (and yes, we confirmed the hot/cold water inlets were fully open and connected correctly. We have not yet contacted LG support however) And that big glass lid? When in the “up” position it stands several inches taller than the comparison washer (which is essentially the same size and capacity). This is really a problem if you have cabinets above the washer (see pics showing the door relative to the 54”-from-floor cabinet height). Our laundry room is big enough that we could pull the washer out from the wall. But if your laundry is tight on space (closet style) this may not be an option. WHAT’S GOOD: - The glass lid makes it easy to see how the load is doing - Stainless steel tub - Huge capacity excels at blankets, comforters, or loads of jeans/heavy clothes - Set-it-and-forget-it automated features, but with an effective “water plus” override - Water and energy saving with a highly effective spin cycle that removes most of the water from clothes before they go into the dryer - Smartphone connectivity, custom programs, and alerts - Pretty quiet for a washer - especially important if your laundry is near your living area - Friendly chime/song at the end of the cycle WHAT’s NOT SO GOOD: - Not great at small, delicate loads; Left some “ring around the collar” on dress shirts even after pre-treating - Ties clothes in knots - Really deep tub is difficult to reach into for short people - Tall lid interfered with upper cabinets installed at the standard 54” height - Won’t add water with the lid up - makes it impossible to dampen and pre-treat shirts while the washer is filling - Must be careful choosing the amount of detergent at the beginning of a load - it dispenses from a drawer, and recommends against adding detergent directly to the tub - Super spin cycle seemed to cause wrinkles in dress shirts SUMMARY: - This is a great washer if you regularly do large loads of bulky items like blankets, comforters, jeans, etc. For these loads this LG is automatic, effective, and quiet. (Our extended family members are lining up to use our new washer when they need to do bedding!) - If you mostly do small loads of more delicate clothing this may not be the best choice. - If you have the budget and space for two washers, this would be a great addition. - Regardless, reading the manual thoroughly is highly recommended both to get the most out of the unit and to optimize the settings and options associated with each cycle

The Best Washing Machine We Have Ever Owned.
This LG top load washer is state-of-the-art. My wife and I cannot believe the change in technology between this model and the one it replaces at our house. The wash tub is humongous at 5.0 cu. ft. With no center agitator the tub seems even larger. This LG Model WT7200C has all the bells and whistles an individual could ask for. The owner's manual is well-written, comprehensive, and easy to understand and follow. At first use my wife panicked when she first saw how little water filled the tub. I mentioned to her this fact was addressed in the manual and it specifically stated not to worry that this was normal. This washer conserves water by weighing the clothes and then determining how much water is required. I said lets wait and see how the load turns out before jumping to conclusions. Bottom line, after multiple loads the laundry turned out nice and clean using only a minimal amount of water. However, an option is available on the control panel to add more water if you decide it is needed. Having a glass lid is a real plus, allowing you to keep an eye on the laundry as it goes through the various cycles. The washer is exceptionally quiet and stable. We no longer have to stop the washer to rebalance heavy loads. See attached pictures. This is an outstanding washer and should provide many years of service; well-done LG.

                            LG is Superior!
I can't even begin to go over all the features that area available with this washer! This is the second set I have gotten. The drum is huge - if you are a short person, you'll need a stool to get to the bottom of the washer! It has all the normal cycles plus a few extras. If you are getting this machine, it pays to read the manual as there are many features you may miss if you don't. The new design is even better with all the original features still there. You can now turn off the chimes if you don't want to hear them. Another new feature is the download cycle. LG's Tag On function uses new and innovative features to allow you to conveniently add new cycles, check the status of your appliance, or diagnose your appliance all from your smartphone. The Cycle Download feature allows you to download cycles to your washer or dryer for later use. For people like me that use Alexa and The Nest, this is a really awesome feature!

Great washer, even cleans cloth diapers and hooks up to a convenient app
This is a great HE washer and has cleaned our clothes well, even our daughter’s cloth diapers which was the biggest concern when receiving it. For numerous reasons, my wife doesn’t let me do laundry and I haven’t heard any big complaints from her which is a good thing. The WiFi and app capability is revolutionary. This washer is an upgrade to our old non-HE unit with an agitator. It is full of cycle options, even one that lets you add extra water to cycles which is key for HE machines. Cycle times seem to be the same or slightly longer as our old washer except the heavy cycle (which we do cloth diapers on) which takes 1 hr 20 mins. That doesn’t include a 30 min pre rinse. So, some cycles are way longer. The washer does take special HE detergent which is easy to find these days. The washer has a ton of room, its huge, maybe a third larger than our old one which is great. The machine is a few inches taller than the old one but my wife is just over 5 feet and can still reach to the bottom though. We have no issues with the drum going off balance. It is HE so it goes light on the water and the see through door is great. With the exception of heavy duty, typical loads do not have all the clothes submerged. I did watch a typical wash cycle and the agitator does a great job of rolling the clothes from the inside out, like a donut. They are getting cleaned. The washer progressively adds more water in the wash cycle, spinning the drum slowly as it adds, too. The features and display are great. It is easy to select a cycle and see how much time it will take. We both absolutely love the WiFi. After hooking the washer and sister dryer up to the app, you can easily know what part of the cycle the washer is on and how much time is left. When the washer is done, I get a notification on my phone. The washer and dryer are in the basement so no more wondered if they are done yet. The jingle, when done, that is synonymous with LG can also be heard upstairs too. The app also lets you download cycles onto the washer. There are many of them but my wife wishes LG provided a cloth diaper one. The only tricky part with the WiFi, is I found you need to hold the WiFi button on the machine down until it is registered on your app. This can take 30 seconds or so while you are working the app. HD direct installed the washer and I was surprised with how well the delivery men worked. They didn’t rush and got it installed and working in a timely fashion. The machine was leveled well. My long-term worry with the machine is all the technology. Our previous washer was simple but this new one is hi-tech. Therefore the likelihood of something breaking can be greater.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine ties up my laundry (pants, long sleeve shirts, sheets etc) after washing. It’s very hard to untangle. It’s probably 5 yrs old and just started littering my clothes with black debris. I’ve run several tub cleaning loads and results are the same.

                                  Poorly made technology
Look up this model before purchasing. YouTube had videos of people trying to help and are experiencing the same issues. It will shut off randomly and won’t turn on. The reset option that LG support will give you is useless. I would have went with another model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for product quality. I have had the washer 5 years. However, I have had a difficult time getting warranty work performed.
