We have owned this washer for under two years. At first I thought maybe even though its a large capacity washer we were adding to many items. Nope it does it not clean our clothes, I have actually put clothes in the washer and part of the load comes out dry and still dirty. Just resently I noticed a grinding sound when the washer is ending the cycle. Wonder what thats going to cost to fix. Thinking it's time to scrap the washer and just buy a new one. Won't be a LG I can promise you that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been buying washers for 40 years. This is my 3rd washer which I bought in summer 2018 it’s the worst washer I’ve ever owned. When I wash towels, or anything heavy, it takes hours to get them done. I carefully put the wash in & it ends up going off balance anyway. After calling the LG number for help I found out that when the washer goes off balance, when on spin cycle, it fills back up with water 3 times, trying to balance on its own before stopping completely so you can adjust it yourself. We have been trying to figure out why our water bill has been so high for months now, even having the water company come to check for any leaks in the water system, which there were none. Now I finally found out why our water bill is so high, it’s the washer running up the bill. Now I have to set timer so I can get to the washer before it starts filling up with water again. What a mess!!! I’m not happy. Is there any way I can resolve this problem?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought our LG washer from Best Buy on 2/18/18. The washer is not even 2 years old and the washer plate has completely disconnected. It actually floated in the washer tub when the washer wouldn't agitate. Called LG. A repairman can be sent out at a cost of $125 to walk through the door. Got this after our previous washer up and died after many, many repairs.Very, very disappointed.

I can program the washer to go on a few hours before I wake up and then put them in the dryer! Absolute game changer....love it!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My 5 month old washer died last week. Just won't even turn on. Best Buy is of no help. They are telling us they "may" be able to get a new motherboard (what new washer needs a new motherboard in FIVE MONTHS?) by mid-November at the earliest. If EVER. So now I'm stuck with a washer that's not paid off and cannot even use. With no resolution from the retailer. Way to go LG!

It does not do a good job of cleaning the clothes & when I set it for a warm or hot water setting it still only pulls cold water from the cold water connection even though it is connected to both hot & cold water.

We were very happy with the ease of use and performance of this washer, but have encountered some serious drawbacks that will likely require us to purchase a different washer. Pros: - The controls are simple, easy to use, and highly customizable. - The large capacity is great. - The noise level is not too high. Cons: - Items with thin material may become bound in the bottom of the tub and damage. - Bad smell. Notes on the cons: We were excited about the large capacity and the ability to wash large bedding and camping gear at home. However, the first time we attempted to wash a camping sleeping bag, the outer bag material slid between the tub and the agitator disc and became completely bound underneath the bottom of the tub. Removal of the agitator disc was required to free bound material and the material itself was damaged (stretched fabric and a hole!) Worst of all is the smell. Mildew has been building up rapidly underneath the tub. We suspected this from the smell and confirmed it when removing the agitator disc due to the problem above. Running the "tub clean" cycle multiple times with either vinegar or Clorox does not completely remove the smell but may reduce it for a short time. Also, chunks of mildew end up all over the next load that is washed. We use the washer several times a week and leave the lid of the washer open in the hope that the tub will dry. We do not use Clorox in our regular clothes cycles, but we did the same in our old washer without having a smell problem. Unfortunately, this problem has us exploring buying a new washer with the hopes that we can still return this one as a defective product. :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m in a situation where I have my home but I’m also renting a home because of a job change. I purchased 2 LG washers, one for each house. I love the size of it and the great variety of washes. I am very pleased with wash quality. However, here’s my challenge. Both machines are not filling hot water on the hot wash. They did when I first installed them, but now no hot water. Need to set up a service appointment :(

Bought this Machine 18 months ago and it is DEAD! No Lights, No Power, No Buttons work... NOTHING! Had a repair guy out and he told me that the PCB Display Assembly was bad and it would be an expensive fix. 18 months with only 3 people in the house... Expensive Washer Purchase for an 18 month run only!

Wife hesitant at first but now loves all the great cost saving features and ease of operation of this stable toploader. I like when it tells my smartphone the cycle has completed. The no slam see-thru lid is a smart innovation. Recommend highly to others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer in November of 2017 and within a few months I kept having a water flow error. Little did I know that there is a water inlet filter in which you have to frequently disconnect the water hoses to clean. I feel that there could be a better design. If you live on well water the inlet water filters tend to clog easily reducing water flow to the washer thus tripping an error code and causing the washer to stop washing. Secondly, it is now August of 2018 and the water discharge pump has burned out costing me hundreds of dollar in repar costs. Of course we are outside the one year parts and labor warrant. LG needs to upgrade the water discharge pump, I keep seeing this as a frequent problem with this brand of washer when doing research about the washer pump. I am not entirely happy with my purchase but at the moment but when it washes without issues it is a great washer.

I hate this machine, everything comes out of the washing machine wrinkled. Even if I have the spin set on Low, they are still wrinkled and are holding too much water for the dryer, so I have to increase the spin. I now have to iron most things, including work out clothes and sweatshirts due to the heavy wrinkling. Very disappointed

I bought this washer 2 years 1 month ago and the electronic board has died. It will cost almost as much as the washer to pay for the replacement part and installation.

Cleans great and easy to use. No issues. Handles large load well.

Very happy with this machine. Deep enough, good wash and leave nice smell on my clothes which the previous one (Whirlpool) did not provide for me.

It handles everything from a load of beach towels for a family of five to a quick wash of a kiddo's favorite shirt with ease. I know I haven't even tapped into all its amazing features, either. There is still more to learn. Love it!

We washed a mattress cover and the washer exploded. LG made us jump through hoops to get our money back even after the repair man they sent confirmed it was a defect of the machine.

We've used it for over 4 months now and it does its job well - cleans clothes nicely in all kinds of modes. One thing that's pretty funny is that if you're under 5' 4", you will need a little stool to get all the clothes out of the bottom.

I really liked this washing machine. It was quiet and I felt it washed well. It unfortunately died after 13 months -- 1 month after the warranty ran out. It wouldn't power on and the electronic motherboard was fried. If you decide to get this machine, definitely buy the extended warranty!!!!!

Worst washing machine ever! Machine stopped working within first month of purchase. Fortunately, it was still under warranty. LG replaced control panel but continued having issues and machine would shutdown before completing any wash cycle. LG has basically rebuilt this washer. Latest incident in 2019 was component that held tub base/bottom in place broke during spin cycle and damaged the tub. LG replaced all tub components in May 2019. I should have been skeptical when Home Depot appliance employee stressed at time of sell that I contact LG with any issues with this washer.

We definitely like the foot print of this machine and the ease of loading from the top rather than bending over to load from the front. The machine runs much quieter and really spins the clothes well after the wash. Glad I stayed with LG!

The few times we used it so far, it worked good.
