I only buy this switch to control my fan/light. Easy to install and the controls are great and the quality is top notch. Costs a little more than other varieties, but to me it’s worth it.

Very easy to install. Perfect for ceiling fan with pull chain controls for fan & light. Allows us to dim the light in a baby’s room as well as control the fan speed from the wall switch.

This switch did NOT work with my brand new hunter ceiling fan/light. I have these in my house already, but after trying three of these, I was extremely disappointed. A simple slide dimmer and fan speed dimmer was what I ended up having to use. I wish they would say that this doesn't work with certain products.

Some fans have a built-in module or limiter that can't be controlled by other manufacturer's controls. We suggest you contact the fan manufacturer to find out if your fan can be controlled by a third-party fan control, such as the Lutron model in question.

Home Depot led bulbs are not compatible with this dimmer. Very disappointed!
Upgraded to these from analog dimmers & expected typical Lutron performance... Didn't happen.

I had to install a deeper duplex box (there was another unrelated switch next to it) to accommodate the depth of the switch, although it was a somewhat shallower than typical box. The switch worked a 1/2 dozen times then failed. I will install a triplex box and replace with 2 separate switches.

Do Not Buy
I installed one and it stopped working after a day. I bought a replacement and it had the same issue. Had to return both since neither worked properly, replaced with a switch half the price and had no issues.

Pro tip
You can use this product with fans that come with a remote. Run a 14/3 to the fan, remove the transmitter that comes with the fan, and wire the black from the fan(this is the fan power) to the black from the 14/3, the blue from the fan (this is the light) to the red from the 14/3, and the neutral to the neutral. At the switch wire the black to the fan wire and the red to the wire for the light. Done.

Great single gang fan+light switch
Bought this as part of a rather unconventional "hack" project of moving fan and light control to the same switch, to allow for the addition of a switched outlet into a 2-gang box alongside fan/light control.
Works well for that purpose, although it's a very deep switch so the box behind it will get very crowded.
