A: Hello Joel, thank you for your question. The Maestro Dimmer and Fan Control model MACL-LFQH is not compatible with exhaust fans, only multi-speed ceiling paddle-style fans.

Q:Will this work with a Harbor Breeze fan, model # 40687?

Answer This Question
A: Hello! The MACL-LFQ is designed to control a standard 3-speed ceiling fan which only uses pull-chains to adjust its speeds. A fan that has its own remote or wall control typically uses a proprietary control technology and would likely be incompatible with a third-party fan speed control. As long as your fan is pull-chain operated only, it is likely to be compatible with the MACL-LFQ!

Q:Can you have multiple of these fan/light switches on the same circuit without issues? To clarify, I am not asking about 3-way or multi-way switches. I've read other manufacturers combo fan/light switches dimming lights in other rooms on the same circuit.

A: Hello! No, the MACL-LFQ does not utilize a canopy module. The wires for your fan and light must be run separately to the MACL-LFQ. You can learn more about installation by checking the install guide here: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/0301838.pdf

Q:I am looking for a combined switch (no room to expand box) that will control LEDs and an exhaust fan. The advanced programing for this switch says either button can be programmed as a dimmer or "switch". Would this work for the fan in switch only mode?

A: I would guess that it would depend on the amperage of the fan you want to control. As long as it falls within the switches operating guidelines, you'd probably be okay. Your best bet is to call Lutron customer service. They are 24/7, US based, have great tech knowledge (at least in my experiences) and will be able to answer your specific question.
