This saw was purchased to replace an older Delta I had that had served its purpose for many years. This saw has a ton more features then my old one did. So far I love it.

Rigid table jobsite table saw.
I have had my saw for five years and have cut tons of hard wood. I have used it to rip heart pine 2x6s that means running it twice to complete the rip because if 3 inch blade height. The only trouble I have had is blade height adjustment knob broke although it took 4 years of heavy use. I will be ripping 11 10 ft 2x6s tomorrow. I did 8 the other day. U burnt me dewalt up doing this after 8 months. If you learn to adjust the saw as needed it will give you years of service.

    Fence is awfull
The fence on this saw is totally useless. wobbles and doesnt stay true to blade.Cheap cheap cheap.Did I say cheap? Motor cuts well. This is not a saw for fine woodworking. Ok to build a dog house.

Saw ate itself at the 2-year mark
This saw has plenty of small issues, but those were all expected in purchasing a jobsite saw. The table is not flat (mine was out almost 1/8"), the miter slots bind because of the plastic coating on the top (high grit sandpaper around a block helped solve this), the blade can be squared on either the right or left, but not both. the fence is kind of a mess because it too often locks out of square on the rear of the table (pressure on the rear outside of the fence to remove deflection). There's almost no reason to connect a shop vac to this things (dust collection is horrendous), but I dealt with all of this because I got this saw for under $300. Today, after two years of use, mostly on weekends, the saw brake stopped working, the motor makes an awful noise, and there's some sort of blue fabric hanging out the front of the motor underneath the table. I haven't opened it up yet because it was late in the day and I needed to keep going on projects. I feel fairly certain the saw is dead now, which is a shame. However, I did get two years out of it, and at that price point it is a fair deal. Would I buy it again? No.

        No Warranty!!!
15 years I’ve been using Ridgid tools. Love the quality and felt good about the warranty. My local Home Depot changed their policy this week and will not handle any of the tool repairs. Now you call their 800 number to find a service center. The nearest one in Arizona was 324 miles away!! That’s the same as no warranty!! Shame on you!!

cuts a perfect 89 degree cut
If you want a table saw that will slowly drive you crazy this is your saw. It will not give you a 90 degree cut. I spent months trying to use this saw and give it chance after chance. If you just need to rip something and it doesnt need to be square, this saw is fine. Its powerful enough to cut every board they sell at Home Depot. It does strugle with hard woods but thats the nature of a saw this size so i dont hold that against this saw. Oh But if you need two boards to join up flush it will not happen. Over the last year ive spent several days trying to dail in the blade I was able to get 45 but it will not get to 0 (90 degrees). Ive got undernieth and turned the little kidney bean so it was no where near the stop bar and pulled the motor as far as it will go and it dosen’t get to 90. Its like the support track on the back doesnt go far enough. The track goes past 45 a little bit so dailing that in was not to hard but it doesnt seem to reach far enough to get it to 90

            RIDGID Portable Table Saw
After having purchased numerous tools from Ridgid I sadly disappointed with this product. I have had to replace height adjustment knob twice in the past 12 months (plastic). If I had known then what I know now I would have definitely changed my purchase.

              Table is not flat
Cuts great if you don’t need any accuracy. Can not cut a true 90 since the top is not flat. Tried and tried to adjust it but with the top with a dip in it not much you can do with it. Also the aluminum fence is con-caved so the stinks too. I would recommend spending little extra for a better saw. Cast aluminum is no good.

I would have to admit that at 332.00 this is a very well built, and operating table saw. It very smooth and balanced. Many years ago i had a 600.00 delta and this rigid remings me of that delta.

                Great Saw for the Money
I picked up the R4518 when it was on sale for $300. If I had known their new model with a rack/pinion fence was coming out, I would have waited a month for the better fence... Original saw failed after about 2 weeks, completely dead. I took it in to the store & swapped it for a new one that I haven't had any issues with yet. Most of the accessories seem fine for the money. If you need to make angled cuts pick up a better miter gauge. Saw blade was level and fence was accurate out of the box.

                  Blade adjuster
Blade adjuster has gotten stuck and broke crank twice first time it was repaired after a 50mile round trip to repair shop. Second time they told me it wasnt registered so they couldn't repair under warranty. Im still trying to figure that out since it was already registered and repaired once.

Assembly was a snap! The sturdiness was very nice, and the quality of the overall set up was superb. It was a pleasure to use for the first time, and I look forward to more projects requiring its use and portability.

An amazing entry table saw, so much better than the ryobi. Compared to the Ryobi, it’s quieter, has a better fence, has two miter slots, and the table is actually flat (1/16 out of flat vs 1/4 on Ryobi).
