I find this tool too heavy for concentrated use. The switch to edge trimmer is not smooth as the pedal to change positions gets its own way. I have used pother brands which are more comfortable use.

Easy start. Precise, smooth cut, self feeding string saves time, only draw back is that I have to recharge the battery to complete edging my yard.

I already had this trimmer and made the mistake of loaning it out. It hasnt been returned, so for the bro's birthday he gets a used one and i keep the new one. Thats fair right?

Plenty of power and love the wheel for bed trimming. A little heavy but adjusting the handle so it is balanced helps a whole lot. Great value for the money.

Very Capable
1 - must have the battery/charger. If battery is dead, then can’t finish.
2 - 4ah battery is more than enough for front, back, sides, house, fence, driveway, sidewalk, garden, etc. But can be heavy & throw off balance. Handle can be adjusted, or get smaller battery.
4 - no motor = less vibration, not as heavy, loud, or smell.
5 - low speed gets MOST everything. High speed gets it done quicker & gets more stubborn growth.
6 - Get the refill string asap. The default string comes tangled

Extremely cheaply made, all plastic parts, lasted only 6 times of regular use, one month. Don't buy it

Love the trigger string feed. Easy string replacement. Excellent trim or edge option. Yard has never looked better.

Goes through string pretty quickly. Only single string which isn’t great. Drains batteries really fast. Overall it’s an average combo and decent for the cost.

Used only a handful of times..
Its a great trimmer when it worked but now it just hangs in my shed. The auto feeder cutter on the string guard is made with a plastic hole and does not stay in one place to cut string... and I am not gonna rig it as its brand new...

Surprisingly strong power for 18V tools but I guess that's Ryobi. I wonder how the Ryobi 40V tools would be in comparison. I currently only have a Ryobi 40V self propelled 21 inch lawn mower...all my other Ryobi products are 18V and all have been excellent.

not really strong enough to do much either as an edger or string trimmer. Unless you have really light work I would rec getting the bladed edger and a separate (heavy duty) string trimmer instead.

Machine worked fine until after the 2nd use the battery would not hpld a charge - so I guess the battery gets no stars and machine gets 4. Will contact Home Depot to see if I can get a battery replacement. If battery worked I would be satisfied with the machine.

Both work very well. Definitely need use the bigger capacity batteries on the trimmer. Blower worked well, nice it is variable speed.
