Ryobi standard
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this for Christmas after wanting one for projects for years. Have done several projects this last month and it stands up like my other ryobi tools. I like the new battery charge lights and seems to hold charge extra long...but my other tools are 5+ years old so batteries have probably lost some umph. Lightening fast charging too and compatible with all my ryobi line-up.

Must Have!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a birthday present to myself, and I wish I had not waited so long to purchase. I have purchased 11 Ryobi tools over the past two years, but had delayed buying the impact drill because, well, I had the other drill. The impact drill made it much easier to drive screws in tight spaces, but also the screws themselves.

Great tools
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love my ryobi tools. My most recent purchase, the driver is great. I have a project I am working on now and having the ryobi drill for putting holes in cabinet doors for handles and the driver for putting in the screws, makes short work of the project. The batteries last long enough for me to work my half day in this Texas heat, on multiple projects. The tools with their strong but small batteries make them light enough for a women to handle for the day.

Welcome to the family!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Ryobi impact driver because I noticed on more than one home improvement show they were using an impact driver rather than a drill/ driver. Since all of my other battery power tools are Ryobi, the new impact driver is surrounded by family,

Upside and Downside
On the upside the RYOBI ONE+ HP PSBID01CN Impact Driver is compact and lightweight but still delivers a powerful punch when driving in screws. The downside though it doesn't have a magnetic plate to hold extra screws, a notch to hold a driver bit nor a belt clip.
Another thing I noticed is that this model says it's an HP which means that there should be two battery leads near the bottom to take advantage of the HP batteries. It doesn't.

Made the task so much easier!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a widow and have to take on tasks normally meant for a male counterpart. My son recommended this Ryobi impact driver to make my job easier, for replacing vinyl decking on my front porch. Thank you Brad and RYOBI!

Best Gift ever!
I was given this impact driver kit as a gift . I have other 18v drills models; a drill, a hammer drill, and several 4v models.(1-HP44L and the new HP74L kit ). When I opened this gift I instantly noticed the much lighter more compact shape. Then I put one of the 2 1.5ah battery packs that came with the kit, grabbed a few 3”” deck screws, and went outside. I started driving screws into new boards I have been replacing on the deck . Wow!! The speed and power this tool has is incredible!! The screws disappeared into the wood very quickly. Almost too fast. Very little fatigue due to weight/vibration. The driver has a light built in the lower hand shaft. It does not come with a belt clip or carry strap. But this tool rates high on my list due to ease of use and its brutal power.

best Christmas gift ever!!
My son was talked into purchasing this new driver by a few “Ryobi-Ladies” at his store promoting the new product line. I opened it, put a battery pack in place and went outside to finish installing new deck boards. Wow! The speed and power of this little “jewel” of a diver is incredible! It’s almost too powerful, as it buries screws quickly. Also the compact/light weight is great with little or no fatigue, thank you

Nice upgrade Ryobi made with these new HP series compact drill, like how you can use any Ryobi battery, and how it fits comfortably in you hand. Plenty of power to get the job done, and comes with 2 batteries and bag for storage. Nice safety feature if drill gets hot it will shut down, then take battery out replace it to reset it and back to work.

Highly recommend this RYOBI impact driver, it has awesome power. Our first time owning an impact driver and blown away of the ease of this tool. Love the RYOBI collection this is our fourth in the collection. Its a great compact size and light weight. The light on it is very bright and helpful when installing a variety of items. The trigger gives you precise control. Great quality tool.

The RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V BRUSHLESS CORDLESS COMPACT 1/4 IN. IMPACT DRIVER is a good addition to my tool chest. It is compact, fairly lightweight and powerful. It is easy to handle and uses the Ryobi One+ batteries found on other Ryobi 18 volt tools. It has a convenient LED light in the handle that lights up the work area, making it easy to see what your are doing. A really nice feature is the one-handed chuck. When you pull the knurled knob holding the bit, it actually ejects the bit while not having to use both hands to remove the bit from the chuck. You do need to be careful where you eject the bit, however, as you don't want to mar work by having the bit strike your recently completed work...Overall, a good, well-built tool.

This is a High torque beast in a compact size. You can see in the pictures below that this thing excels at driving screws. Tested this out with a couple of round head multi material screws at first, to get a feel for the handling and the amount of torque this could put out. It blew my expectations away. I also love how much lighter this thing is than my regular impact driver sets from ryobi.
I had to be careful, because you can over drive screws with this impact driver really easily. The first couple of times, with the slightest of pressure, I managed to Sink the round heads clear past the surface. It was clear I was just not expecting there to be the amount of torque this thing puts out effortlessly. Getting used to the power of this is going to be your only hurdle with this tool, and what a great problem to have!
The standard hex quick change adapter is A breeze to use, and the LED light stays on longer than normal, roughly 8 seconds, like the similar drill/driver from this family set. I love the new delayed off time for the LED, as it is one of those little things you can take for granted in how much it actually helps with your work. This is going to be my new favorite addition to my Ryobi tool set.

I have a decent sized collection of Ryobi One+ tools, including several impact and drill drivers. They have all performed flawlessly, but I was excited for the HP compact series simply because I was wanting something smaller and lighter. I have both the brushed and brushless impact drivers, and I have images attached showing the size differences between models. The HP series is obviously more compact, but the weight is a noticeable difference which is exactly what I was looking for.
The power and performance is just as comparable to the other Ryobi models. I mostly use impacts for driving longer screws into wood, and the HP model does that with no problems. My hand does get fatigued with the bigger brushless model, so having a smaller alternative has been absolutely perfect.
It’s more of a cosmetic thing, but I did want to mention I like the new design of these models. The grip is nice and comfortable and overall the tool just has a more modern design. I hope to see this continued with newer models.
Overall this is a great tool. If you are just getting started with Ryobi or already invested in the system, you can’t go wrong with the HP series if you want something lighter and more compact, but not giving up the performance.
I was at a crossroads and about to decide on whether to stay with ryobi or change up my system, then I needed a impact driver and the new hp driver was available but only 4 of them at the initial release, I ran and bought it and It made up my mind and I will be using ryobi for as long as they come out with tools this awesome at this price point

Noisy and weak
Compared to the regular version i have of this brushless tool, this one is noisy and requires effort to sink deck screws. I dont know if it’s the weight (significantly lighter) or just the motor. The hammering action is shorter and not as powerful as the regular version. This tool makes an amazingly annoying “BRAAAAAAPPP!” sound. After 300 screws you will wish you had ear plugs. I wish i could return it and get the non-brushless version. Ugh

Small & compact Great combination
I have had this drill for a couple of months now and I have been really happy with it's performance. In addition the batteries and charger that came with it are long lasting with lots of run time and quickly charge up when I need it to. The light on it really is helpful and well placed. I tool apart an old bench and put it back together again with the help of this drill.

Size and price
When I saw the reveal of Ryobi's new compact line I thought that this would be perfect for the work that I do. I am retired but I build cabinets. It is almost a full-time job. I have problems with my wrist and hands, so that is is hard to use some of the heavier tools. This new compact line is perfect for me, also when you are working on cabinets some of the areas are tight, so these tools were put to use right away on my current project. I had to get used to the variable speed trigger on the impact driver, but otherwise, everything works great. The size and weight are perfect for cabinet making. I also have found that these tools are powerful enough to tackle some of the heavy-duty jobs I do.

The Ryobi One+ HP brushless cordless compact impact driver is a great new tool in an extensive list of Ryobi One+ products. I picked this impact driver to replace my older model. This new line of HP tools caught my eye, and I couldn't pass up the upgrade!
This impact driver kit comes with the tool, 2 1.5ah batteries, a battery charger, and a carrying bag. Everything you need to get started with an impact driver. The driver's compact and lightweight design feels great in the hand and provides a long day of usage without arm or hand fatigue.
The batteries charge rather fast, and despite only being 1.5ah, the brushless motor allows for the battery to be long-lasting. I also really enjoy the battery meter that is on the front of each battery, allowing you to quickly check how much juice you have left. This unit makes quick work of lag screws, and makes building a breeze. A nice bonus is that this driver has a built-in built-in light on the base. This is great for working in locations where light conditions aren't great, allowing for safer and more accurate use. If I had to pick a negative, it would be that this doesn't come with a bit. Not a deal-breaker since most lag screws come with their driver bit included, though.
Overall, this is a great project, and Ryobi really hit a homerun with this new line!

A few years back I had purchased a different brand electric screwdriver / drill, and while it worked well for most home projects, I sometimes found it didn’t have sufficient torque for some of the more difficult tasks. I put up with the lack of torque for a while but decided to upgrade; and in retrospect, I should have done this a lot sooner. The Ryobi 18-volt brushless 1/4-inch impact driver has been a game changer for me. With up to 1,700 inch pounds of torque (140 foot pounds), this little beast won’t back down from any home improvement project. In the box you will find the impact driver, one battery charger, two 18-volt lithium batteries, a carrying case, and an instruction manual. The batteries are fast charging, which is helpful in keeping any project moving forward. Please keep in mind, while this impact driver is variable speed and is reversible, it doesn’t have a clutch to allow slippage for the more delicate projects. Now for the nitpicks—the belt hook and bit holder are optional and are not included in the set.

I have had quite a few Ryobi tools over the last 20 years I have been very happy with them. They seem to last forever I still use my other impact gun and drill. I had a 5 inch circular saw that I used all the time til somebody stole it a few months ago. This set is a brushless impact gun. It comes with a gun, 2 1.5 ah batteries, a charger and a carry bag. I notice on my old gun the bit seems to wobble a little bit. Not this one it spins true. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't come with a belt hook like most drills do. It has a hole for it and you can purchase it separately but other than that I recommend it.

I have owned several regular drills from many different brands including hammer drills. And I have seen many changes and improvements to drills and there corresponding batteries. I have never owned an impact driver nor did I ever feel that I really needed one. After getting my hands on this particular kit I'm so glad that I have one now. I'm really impressed with these new batteries in them how quickly they charged up. The impact driver is extremely light and powerful. The speed controlled trigger is a major convince when I'm on the jobsite.
