If you live somewhere that gets a lot of wet /heavy snow you will hate this snow blower. The auger control joystick is mechanical and plastic. The moment you get wet snow followed by colder temps it will freeze and jam. I had this for two weeks. After the first Vermont snowfall it went right back.

I used the snow blower one time at the motorcys. After the first use period I then tried to return it and have them pick it up with the truck which they would not do because they said there was gas in it. So I had to return it to the store. Would only give me a store credit? Because it was more than a month from when I ordered it period which is crazy since it took 3 weeks for me to get it in the first place. And I don't really have it in my possession for a week. When I used it once and?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first use was a real good test for the Toro Power Max 2 stage snow blower. Our cabin is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe and the snow there is wet and heavy often called "Sierra Cement". Delivery was delayed so there was over 2 feet with a frozen crust in the mix. I had to pick the berm from the plow at the street but was able to get about 8 inches above ground level and the snow blower was able to work through the 18+- inches of snow. I did have to muscle it at times because of the crust, but it ground it up and threw it with ease. If I had chains for the tires It would have taken less effort on my part, for the only issue was traction. The shute controll worked effortlessly and used some wax on the paint before use and no clogging. (my brother said I should try silicone spray to prevent the snow from sticking) Cleared out a space big enough for two vehicles in no time. Very pleased with the performance and started in the cold without issue. I would recommend.

Impressive...Toro 2 stage powered through the deep "Sierra cement" on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Chains would have helped, but I was very pleased with its performance. It never clogged and the shoot control worked like a charm.

It has not snowed since my purchase. Will put it to the test as soon as it snows. Everyone in Northern Illinois needs to thank me for no more snow!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this 824 OE in Eastern Ontario, loads of snow and I use the machine for maybe eight to ten hours a season....I've changed the plug once, I run it with the highest octane that we sell up here and run it dry at the end of season... The machine cuts powder like butter but it will struggle a "little" with WET heavy snow...Starts first pull, in warmer weather even without the choke.Its been dependable for me and a useful machine. Started right up with no hesitation. Plenty of power and shoots snow well. Like the control for the shoot direction. Used once and I have no complaints.

It bad snowblower. Assemble was easy and it came with oil in the engine already. Was a bit difficult to start the first time, I recommend using the electric start function. Worked very well clearing my large driveway. God snowblower for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No issues at all. This snowblower starts right up and throws snow a healthy distance. I got it because it was rated for both paved and gravel surfaces (my driveway is gravel). One major improvement is the chute rotation control. The new mechanism is much better than the older mechanisms. So far, so good.

In general I am happy. The only gripes I have are with the manufacture and not Home Depot. It did what it was supposed to. The Installation instructions are horrible, expect to rely on youtube.

Strong powerful snow blower. Assembly was simple. Ready for the next blizzard.

Product is great. Home depot sucks. Won't be buying any more products from you. You bait and switch, dont offer me anything for me having to put it together. Was supposed to be assembled. You freeking lied. Yoiu can make this up to me. But I'm sure nothing will come from it. Johnny T.

Machine arrived damaged and Home Depot did not know how to about fixing it. It is at a Toro authorized service dealer waiting to get fixed.

Looked for the area on machine to install the lose pieces with frustration until guessing the symbol was a trash can ?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new Toro Power Max 824 ate through the frozen, crusty snow at the end of my driveway with ease. It also picked up and threw both powder and heavy wet snow. I have two driveways and a corner lot worth of sidewalks. This snow thrower tackled everything with ease. My only critique is that it’s a little on the heavy side, about 200 lbs and you have to think of that when you’re trying to maneuver it and when using the speed controls.

Bought it and used it twice before it wouldnt spin any more, cleaned out all the snow and the drive broke as soon as i hit snow. Home Depot said id have to go through Toro well Toro wont do anything and says to go through home depotz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine cleans pretty well except it does not clean all the way to the surface. It leaves about 1/2 inch of snow on asphalt. I have had to shovel off that last bit to get a completely clean driveway. Otherwise it works quite well..

I can't review it because I have not had a chance to use it, no snow. The one thing I was not happy about was I had to go online to down load a copy of the Toro's user guide.
