Extremely disappointed with this purchase...
My Toro is a good example of why I hesitate to purchase American made products. Quality Control is just a term they like to use. I purchase this snowblower and the chute does not lock in place when I let up on the control button. So... look at the manual to see how I might fix something that should have been set correctly at the plant and find out that the image in the manual does not match what I have. I took it to the local warranty shop only to have them saw that this isn't under warranty because... it's an "adjustment." I guess if you buy a product, the internals of which wasn't assembled correctly at the plant, that's now considered a non-warranty "adjustment" to have it done correctly. At least point me to where I can purchase a service manual and I'll fix it myself. It'd also be helpful if the service manual diagrams reflected reality. The person at the warranty shop couldn't figure it out either after seeing the photos.

Powerful for All Types of Snow
We live at 4200 ft in an area that gets dumped on. After 40” of powder we ended up getting a nasty 6” of wet slush. This blower handle both with no issue at all! Sure you need to make a couple passes when it gets deep, but this blower can handle that. Remember it doesnt come with headlights so prepare accordingly for early or late uses with some LEDs.

      Great machine!
Finally got to use my new blower on our 38" snowfall on 12/16-17. Works quite well. So much easier to maneuver compared to my last blower. Very satisfied customer. Please note that my dependability rating of "3" starts is simply because I've only been able to use the blower 1 time. Wish there were a N/A option.

I'm 77 and my husband is 86. We can both operate this snowblower. We live on one acre and the driveway and turn around areas are gravel. This unit has adjustable "shoes" to raise the auger so it doesn't dig into the gravel. It is very powerful, easy to start and a welcome addition to our mechanized fleet (ie riding lawn mower, sprayer, rototiller, etc.). It was already put together at the store which is a plus.

Came in a big box, had to put together, handle bars and attach cables, suggest you look up video from Toro before you assemble it, especially the cable adjustments part follow and you should have no problem. this replaced a basic MTD 24" model with 8 speed transmission, although a good machine, Toro has power steering and much more power thanks to the 252 cc vs the 208 on MTD. I have to remove my roof snow and the MTD was pretty much useless, because when you shovel snow off roof it becomes something else when it hits the ground it transforms into a monster, what I call second hand snow is terribly difficult to remove. I have confined areas where have to remove from roof than blow towards driveway or backyard. If I leave snow on roof it drips for weeks and re-freeze every night on ground and is very hazardous, so had to have a more powerful machine with power steering and one that was similar in size to my 24" MTD, don't get me wrong MTD good machine for light duty work but not up to difficult snow removal. I did some careful comparisons before buying this machine, I looked at Husqvarna, Airens, Dr Power, Club cadet, MTD Simplicity ect.... I narrowed down to Ariens or Toro, I even talked to dealers and shop mechanics, they all said buy the Ariens; To Big! I have a bad back and needed a lighter machine, the Ariens Deluxe 24" or for that matter 28" both same machine!, you might as buy the 28", but weight 80lbs or more. just to big for my purpose. That why I bought the 26" Toro just a little bigger and approximant weight as my MTD, but much more powerful. It will start with first pull but the bigger the CC harder to pull, I will always use electric start works great. only neg no hand warmers, and delivery company let it set in warehouse 50 miles away, fromThursday through the weekend received on a Monday, I could have used it on Thursday. Plus its made in Mexico. Aside from that, seems like a well built machine and handles like a sports car compared to one with out Power steering.

Will probably require adjustments before use
The unit started up with no problems. When I tried moving it, speeds 1, 2 and 3 all moved the unit in reverse. There is an adjustment for this but when I tried that change forward speed 1 still moved in reverse. The unit is going back.

          Poor first impression
It was delivered all assembled. Looked like a floor model with tags on it. That was nice. But when I fired it up, it would only go in reverse. After adjusting drive linkage as far as it would go, it now goes forward beginning with forward position #2. Forward #1 still runs in reverse. It won't be simple to take to a service center. When time allows, I'll open the drive box and see if I can do anything to fix it. No snow to evaluate it further so will update rating later.

Great machine. Stop complaining about first gear!
For those that want to keep complaining first gear is too fast, IT IS EASILY ADJUSTABLE. Take the long rod off in the front, turn the screw at the top...you can get it so slow that first forward gear actually changes to reverse. Not rocket science.

            What a great machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In Massachusetts along the NorthEast coast where I live, we get a lot of very heavy wet snow that is consistent to a concrete slurry. Back breaking when shoveling. I needed a machine that could move the slurry with no worry and after several weeks of looking at different manufacturers and models I decided on the best choice and I was not wrong. Shortly after purchase, it was called into service on my 135 foot uphill driveway 4 times in a one month period this winter and never failed. Reliable, easy to start and control. I look forward to next winter. Thank you

4 stars instead of 5 because the instructions that come with the Toro 826 OAE snowblower are very poorly done. We had it delivered & assembly was pretty straightforward. Unfortunately, I over-primed it & flooded the engine the first time I tried to use it. After watching a YouTube video, I finally got it running properly and it cleared 3-4 inches of wet, heavy, spring snow very well.

            Perfect Toro for us
Had to buy a new snowblower for our new place. Bought this back in October and got to use it in mid-December. It is a total workhorse! The joystick chute control is something that all blowers should have, especially the main line brands. It chopped up the ice at our apron no problem and after getting 42" of snow, it cleaned the driveway very efficiently with no issues. It started with barely a full pull each time and we have had 0 issues with it so far. You can't go wrong with the Toro brand.

The product was delivered assembled but missing parts. Home Depot would not assist me in ordering replacement parts and I had to go directly to Toro do purchase the missing parts. The auger also continues to spin when not engaged. I will need to worth with Toro through the recall/warranty process.

Great machine, so easy to handle. But the lowest speed is a bit too fast as it can't take in the full auger height of snow at that speed so it's move 2 ft, wait 2 seconds, repeat.
