Beware - self destructs after warranty
I really like the unit - it does a good job and is easy to handle. I expected it is not the 'heavy duty' (and hard to handle) model, but I didn't expect that there would be damage by a bolt that came loose just after the warranty expired (3 years). Toro support couldn't do anything to help or interested in a bad design. Basically the bolt holding the pulley onto the rotor shaft worked loose, causing severe damage to the pulley, shaft and belt. Replacement of these parts is over $300

Love this machine. We got hit hard with snowfall over the weekend and this machine powered through 18-24” of snow. Great purchase. Worth the money in a day

      24” SnowMaster 724 review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Powerful little blower throws the snow better than I expected. Handles the wind row from the snow plow at the end of the driveway very well. However, if they used heavy salt in my area which they don’t, then I think I would need a bigger machine. Moves at the pace I need it to. Like the joystick that allows me to point the chute quickly in the direction I need it to go. It looks like it’s a good build quality, solid machine that works. The plastic chute is solid and one less thing to rust.

      Just in time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this the day before the blizzard hit and 15 inches of snow over two days. East to assemble and electric start worked perfect. Even my wife was comfortable using it which was a big win! Handles the extra snow from the street plow just fine. I also like the size and weight to move around in the garage easily.

Easy to aim chute, easy steer, easy to operate.
This thing pull starts easily, and has electric start. The joystick control for the chute is so easy to operate and much quicker than the crank handle designs of others. The personal pace goes at the speed you push it along, slow or fast, No gear changes or thinking about speed. It handled over a foot of snow easily. It turns tight corners easily. It’s light and easy to turn or back up. I’ve had bigger heavier machines with many gears and speeds and revers and full steel chutes. This is better.

        Snow thrower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very good machine extremely easy to start very powerful, tested it on went heavy slush and it moved it. I clean my driveway in minutes not hours. I had an electric snow mover and it just can't do the like Toro, worth the price! Well made machine.

Shredded Belt After First 15 minutes of Use
Purchased this through Home Depot, got it home and ran through the quick start guide to check everything prior to starting it up for use. Got 2 strips of my driveway done before it stopped throwing snow and after inspection, the auger belt was shredded.

The Best Single Stage Snowblower on the Market!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This snow blower is a ROCK STAR. I was worried getting the 724 compared to the 824 due to the 55+CC larger motor on the 824. However, I was NOT disappointed in our recent snow in Chicago. It functioned just like the videos on the Toro website and I'm thoroughly impressed. I had a 23 year old single stage Toro unit and have been faithful to the brand with my lawn mower. I will say, and this is just being open and honest like others who have rated this unit, getting used to the self-propelled system does take a small bit of practice, but DO NOT let this discourage you from buying this unit. We all have to learn new tricks at times. This is worth every penny, threw snow literally 35-40 feet and I almost felt like I had to be careful not to shoot snow too far and fill my neighbors driveway. That's what I love about the trigger handle, snow shoot control, it is the best on the market and easy to use! Awesome unit!!

Good machine. Light weight and easy to maneuver. Starts up 1st or 2nd pull. Runs a long time on a single fill-up. Removes light to heavy snow. Destroys end of driveway snow and ice pileup. Takes time to get use to the Toro Personal Pace, but is a dream when its conquered. Would not recommend for hilly driveway, will get away from you if its a bit icy out.

          Light, Quick and Easy
I have had a MTD Yard Machines 2 stage Snow King model 3BA for over 20 years. It does a good job and still starts on the first pull. But it has only one speed - slow. I typically blow my driveway and my elderly neighbors drive and was looking for something to get the job done quicker, not to mention the Snow King has developed a slight oil leak. Bought the Toro 724 QXE Snowmaster three days ago. A couple of days ago we received 2 - 3 inches of light fluffy snow and the 724 breezed right through, much quicker than walking behind the Snow King. Last night we got dumped on with about 12" of light fluffy snow. The 724 handled this very well also. I do have a rather steep incline in my driveway, as you can see in my photos, and I did have some trouble going back up it, with the 724's tires wanting to spin. I did a couple of things to help with this. 1. I got some Yak Trax for my shoes to give me extra traction so my feet are not slipping as well, and 2. I move a bit faster at the bottom of the incline to give me more inertia as I approach the steep part of the incline. This seems to be working well. I do agree that it does have a tendency to want to lift the front end if you push it harder, but I think this can be controlled by slowing down. I do really like how easy it is to move around and turn, as well as the ease of the quick shoot. The snow plows came around this afternoon and piled a couple of feet of snow in front of my drive, with some wetter snow at the bottom. The 724 did not like this so much. I got out the old Snow King and it went right through. That thing really is amazing. If it wasn't so slow it would be all I need. I also broke some of the snow down with a shovel and used the 724. I really didn't expect the 724 to perform better than the dual stage Snow King for this huge mess at the end of the driveway, so I was not disappointed. I will use the 724 for most of my snow blowing, but am keeping the Snow King for those super difficult situations. There were a couple of things that I am surprised with on the 724. First, after starting and turning the choke off it seems to sputter a bit, but once I start blowing it is fine. Second, when using the pull start, I have to pull several times to get it to start. These two things surprise me with a new unit. My 20+ year old Snow King starts on the first pull and stops sputtering as soon as I turn the choke off. I will probably have these items checked by my local Toro dealer in the off season. Hopefully it will be covered under warranty.

            I liked it
I liked this snow blower, but i had to return it to get a bigger Toro snow blower. The snow drifts i get in my driveway are deep and thick and i thought i better get something with a little more power so I got the snow max 826 OHAE from Toro! It's better to have the power when you need it!!! It comes tomorrow and the snow comes on this Friday so i'll be good! I'll give a review on the Snow Max 826 OHAE 26 after I've used it a few times.

I received my new snow blower right on time before our latest snow storm here in Minnesota. It arrived in perfect condition and once I filled gas, it started right up. It was cutting through the 6" wet and heavy snow and even the end-of-driveway pile from the plow like it was warm butter. Very happy with the ease of using this equipment.

I am very pleased with the Toro 724 QXE. I seriously considered the 721 QXE since Consumer Reports ranked it number one for a Single Stage blower. I ordered the unit and was very disappointed with all of the plastic. After several faulty units were delivered, I decided to try the 724. This unit has rubber wheels and most of the major components are made of steel. I am really concerned about long term reliability and performance. I did not think that all of the plastic parts would last in the long term. The 724 QXE is much more solid than the 721. It is still light enough for both women and men to use. If you are in the market, I strongly recommend that you consider this model. Very marginal increase in cost compared to the 721 QXE. I used the unit a couple times since our snowfall in Reynoldsburg, Oh on January 12, 2019. This machine performed exceptionally well. I really like the functionality of the joystick to control the direction of the shute! Excellent design Toro! I hope this is helpful!

Ive seen some negative reviews, mostly relating to how it was packaged and shipped. I did not encounter any of those problems. As for the machine, here's the deal, as I see it. This is all snowblower and nothing else. No bells and whistles, no lights, nothing fancy. It is a powerful little engine with an auger. and it does exactly what a snowblower should do. It starts right up with the pull start or electric start. It picks up even wet heavy snow and throws it a pretty good distance. It's light and maneuverable. It's very powerful. The joy stick chute control is ingenious. The parts that wear are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace. I use it commercially. I'm on my second season with it and I am very pleased. Change the spark plug and the oil. Use fresh gas. Lubricate the cables and wear points and don't leave it out in the rain. You can spend a lot more for something that weighs a lot more and does a lot less.

It’s only November so I havnt used this machine yet, but I still have some comments for people thinking of buying one of these. And for Toro! When assembling machine, the first task is to raise the handlebars and tighten the bolts to secure it. Note there is a zip tie on the right-hand side that needs to be cut before the handle can be raised. The machine started right up, but note the black Metal shelf above the choke and primer gets hot! Attention Toro quality control attention! The cable that goes to the quick stick and is secured to the lower part of the blower housing buy a 10 mm screw well this screw would not go Through the metal fitting on the cable! I had to file it larger! Make sure to wire the red plastic key to the frame of the machine itself so I can get lost as happened to me on my craftsman snowblower during a blizzard. Can’t run the machine without a key now can you! And Toro, How about a spare key ha ha!

works great for our area. A detailed review is below
The blower did not struggle it throws the snow VERY well and far. It cleared the snow down to the pavement better than my neighbors 1200$ snowblower and did it in one pass in most cases. It started very easy and was simple to put together. If the snow was fresh and had not been compacted there was never a issue clearing any snowfall this whole winter. Cons: The joystick that moves the chute Is kind of a pain, it does stick sometimes and i do feel as if i may break it when it sticks and i attempt to shake it loose. The way the speed is controlled is by pushing the handle down so you cannot set a specific speed like you can with other snowblowers and if your trying to go slow and you hit a heavy patch naturally you need to push harder which in return increases your speed.. The snowblower itself is kind of light in weight i wish it had another 30lbs or so.

This model is sturdy and well made. The motor is solid and strong. The forward drive is definitely sure footed. The auger seems to be strong and able to move a lot of snow. I wish that I could tell you about how well it moved the snow, but as you know when you by a snow blower, it doesn’t snow.

I live North of Buffalo but I don't get as much Lake Effect snow. Purchased in late January after getting sick of shoveling. Took couple of weeks to get delivered. Got hit with a storm while waiting and let the snow pile up in my driveway. I drove over it causing the tires to impact the snow. They left the pallet at the end of my driveway even though they were supposed to drop it off near my garage. I was lucky the plows didn't smash into it. It was easy enough to put the handle and the chute together (two screws each) except for the freezing temps. It started right up and cleared the snow away. I had no trouble with the end of driveway where the plows pile it up. It doesn't go through it as easy as a higher model. I had to be patient, go slow, and do it twice but it got the job done. Another day was 34 degrees with wet slush. It didn't handle that too well only throwing it a foot. The neighbor used a 2 stage Honda and had similar issue. I went back/forth the short way and it cleared the driveway. Next day more snow fell and I just cleared the driveway without issue. Great machine for the price. I've learned to go slower since I walk so fast & the automatic drive moves it along. Lightweight so pulling it back is not an issue. Easily starts with a couple of pulls so not having electric start not an issue. Manually turning the chute is a little inconvenient because it's in the front and you have to reach around. Not too big of a deal but you may want to consider spending the extra $ for the chute controls near the handle. If you want to save some money, you get used to it. Very pleased with purchase and I get excited when it snows now. Much better than shoveling. If you want a more powerful machine you will have to pay extra but this does the job well. I was hesitant to purchase a single stage but it works great. I've used it three times so far.

After weeks of researching 24” snow blowers and after a bad experience with an Ariens Compact 24 machine we purchased and returned, we ordered the Toro Snow Master 724 QXE. When we ordered, it was on sale for $699 (usually $749) w/ free shipping. It arrived in a tidy box the night before our most recent snowstorm in perfect condition and with oil. After 20 minutes of assembly, I had it up and running. Assembly of chute and securing cables was pretty simple, even in a dark driveway! One note on assembly...I read many reviews in all my research about this machine, people stating that the "factory reversed the 2 cables". I also thought this, because after I installed the chute, when I went to bolt the cables to chassis when I realized they were crossed as I had read....ARGH! BUT...after stepping back and gathering my thoughts, I realized that by simply unbolting the chute and rotating it and reinstalling it corrected the issue and I did not have to go through the pains of removing and reinstalling the cables as others stated they had to do. I hope this tip helps someone else out there. That is the one thing I would criticize Toro on reading the set up directions. It states to "remove chute from bag and install". They need to point out that you need to have the chute oriented the correct way first; or the cables will be crossed! Anyway, after assembly I added gas and it fired up on 1st pull with the recommended 3X prime pumps. The next afternoon, I took care of 6+" of snow in my paved, slightly inclined 100' driveway and despite the reviews and recommendations, I cleared a 20'X10 area on my lawn in less than 10 minutes with little trouble (much easier than a heavy two stage actually). The “Personal Pace” feature was awesome! I quickly got the hang of it and quickly came up with a few techniques that avoided any jumping of the machine that I had also read about in my research. I found by leaving one hand (right) on the stationary bar and the left on the push bar and also controlling the auger lever worked perfect. In my opinion, it was MUCH more comfortable and ergonomic than the standard drive/auger handles on conventional two stage machines. This machine was fast, never bogged once at the end of the driveway, the traction on tires was much better than the more expensive Ariens was, despite having smaller wheels ("11 vs. 13"). Maneuverability was very impressive and the lack of reverse as many have already stated is a moot point, because it is so light (125 lbs). For what we need in a snow blower, this thing delivered much better than I even expected. I see no reason why it would struggle with a bigger dumping of snow.....VERY satisfied thus far. Excellent customer service Home Depot and great job TORO!!!

Best snowblower on the market hands down. It gives you the best of a single stage and a two stage. I was looking at upgrading to a 2 stage Ariens. Everyone I talked to with a 2 stage said they are a pain and to stick with a single stage. This one gives you the benefits of a two stage. (Doesn’t bog down in deep snow with its big motor. Throws snow far). But also the benefits of the single stage. Light, easy to maneuver, removes all the snow to the pavement. Stop debating and just buy this one. The only reason to still buy a two stage is if you gave a gravel driveway.

Got to test this machine on up to 14 inches of snow. Very powerful, yet super easy to operate. The way Toro designed it is almost as mowing the lawn. Wish it had reverse, but honestly this machine weights way less than a 2 stage so it's not a big deal.
