Can this be carried out of the store and into my car by one person? Or does it require at least 2 persons to lift into and out of my car?

Asked by: John
It takes 2 people, unless you can rig a ramp. I got it into my Forester by folding the handle bar and removing the chute. The store employee knew how to do this. When I got home, I used a trailer side rail as a ramp and easily rolled the machine out and onto the ground by myself. Reassembly was easy.

Does it work well to clear snow off the lawn? We have so much snow this year that I need to clear it away from my house

Asked by: Nick
Thank you for your interest in our SnowMaster 724 QXE (36002)! This powerful snow thrower is powered by Toro Premium 212cc OHV 4-cycle. It's ideal for concrete and asphalt surfaces that can park up to 4+ cars and 6 - 18" (15 - 46 cm) of snow at a time. With 24" (61 cm) clearing width, 18” (46 cm) intake height, and up to 40' (12 m) throw distance. So we definitely recommend this product if you are thinking about a machine to clear your snow. Toro also offer many more snow throwers, please visit Toro.com to view our full line of snow products. Hope this helps!

I seriously considered the 721 QXE since Consumer Reports ranked it number one for a Single Stage blower. I ordered the unit and was very disappointed with all of the plastic. After several faulty units were delivered, I decided to try the 724. This unit has rubber wheels and most of the major components are made of steel. I am really concerned about long term reliability and performance. I did not think that all of the plastic parts would last in the long term. The 724 QXE is much more solid than the 721. It is still light enough for both women and men to use. If you are in the market, I strongly recommend that you consider this model. Very marginal increase in cost compared to the 721 QXE. I used the unit a couple times since our snowfall in Reynoldsburg, Oh on January 12, 2019. This machine performed exceptionally well. I really like the functionality of the joystick to control the direction of the shute! Excellent design Toro! I hope this is helpful!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thin metal and lightweight issues We decided to try this snowblower which mimics the single stage types. From a power perspective, yes...very good. Throws "cold weather" lighter snow nicely. 12" no problem. The issue is when "warmer weather" heavy weight snow or street plowed driveway apron snow. Its lighter weight nature causes the rear wheels just to spin. You have to push forward with your hips to go forward. That starts to hurt your hips after a while. Even my older 2 cycle performed better in this area. Discharge control can be challenging. Takes a bit to get used to. It has a tendency to pull to the right, so you are forcing to steer left. The auger chamber concerning. The metal is thin for the torque applied to auger. Ours damaged by a fork lift blade. When off, there's still a tendency to push the unit with the personal pace handle, which makes "clonking" noises. Storing the unit is good. About 2/3 the size of a 2 stage. Still in debate whether to return for a 2 stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best snowblower I've ever owned. For the last 35 yrs, living in Vermont with a large driveway, I only considered larger heavier snowblowers with a lot of power, so when i read about this little Toro, I almost skipped over it but the videos were hard to ignore. The local Toro dealer let me try it on 10 inches of hard crusty snow. It was amazing. We've had generous snow here in Vermont so far this year so I've really put this thing through every kind of snow conditions possible. It does a much better job and I finished my cleanup in half the time. I love the Personal Pace system, never having to change the speed saves a lot of time. The joystick chute control is amazing. I have back problems and this machine is so easy that I never strain my back any more. I even use it to clear my deck. We just had a 16 inch snow storm and I was excited to put this little machine to the test and it truly passed in every way. This little Toro even clears slush. I am very happy with my Toro 724 QXE.

Ive seen some negative reviews, mostly relating to how it was packaged and shipped. I did not encounter any of those problems. As for the machine, here's the deal, as I see it. This is all snowblower and nothing else. No bells and whistles, no lights, nothing fancy. It is a powerful little engine with an auger. and it does exactly what a snowblower should do. It starts right up with the pull start or electric start. It picks up even wet heavy snow and throws it a pretty good distance. It's light and maneuverable. It's very powerful. The joy stick chute control is ingenious. The parts that wear are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace. I use it commercially. I'm on my second season with it and I am very pleased. Change the spark plug and the oil. Use fresh gas. Lubricate the cables and wear points and don't leave it out in the rain. You can spend a lot more for something that weighs a lot more and does a lot less.

Driveway had at least 10" of snow and a plow pile at the apron. This machine powered right through it. Feels solid, easy to start and use. It has enough speed to power through the snow, I did not struggle maneuvering this through the plow pile. This review is from a 57 year-old girl!. We have a 3 car garage with a decent size driveway. My husband & I both agree that unless you are doing commercial removal, nothing more is needed. We looked at another SB for $200 less and I read Consumer Products review, this was a winner. I like to save money but this is definitely worth the extra $. Neither of us wanted a massive SB. If I have any issues I will update review. Hooray it's snowing again!

It’s only November so I havnt used this machine yet, but I still have some comments for people thinking of buying one of these. And for Toro! When assembling machine, the first task is to raise the handlebars and tighten the bolts to secure it. Note there is a zip tie on the right-hand side that needs to be cut before the handle can be raised. The machine started right up, but note the black Metal shelf above the choke and primer gets hot! Attention Toro quality control attention! The cable that goes to the quick stick and is secured to the lower part of the blower housing buy a 10 mm screw well this screw would not go Through the metal fitting on the cable! I had to file it larger! Make sure to wire the red plastic key to the frame of the machine itself so I can get lost as happened to me on my craftsman snowblower during a blizzard. Can’t run the machine without a key now can you! And Toro, How about a spare key ha ha!

Finally got a big snowfall where I can use my brand new toro snowblower for the first time. Filled it with gas, checked the oil, and plugged it in to use the electric start. It turned over great. Ran for 10 to 15 seconds and then died. It did this repeatedly. Played with it for an hour with the same result. Run for 10 to 15 seconds and died. Could barely take the choke off and it died. Tried to call Toro, but of course, it was after their hours and they were closed. Called my local repair shop that services Toro machines and they determined that it was a gas line / carburetor problem. Some times chunks of stuff get into the carburetor and clogs it up during the assembly process. Of course he will not know for sure what the problem is until he rips it a part. SO DISAPPOINTED. It will be covered under warranty but now I have 7 inches of snow in my driveway that I have to shovel so I can get out of the drive and deliver this machine that is suppose to be reliable and wait for them to repair it. For what Toro charges, I am so disappointed. I wish I could charge Toro for my time, the hassel, and headache. Based on this experience, I would not recommend you buy this product. Toro needs to do a better job with it quality control. Frustrated and soar from shoveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design and very user friendly Only used a couple times but went through 7-8" of snow with ease. Starts on first pull and cleans down to pavement. Overall would purchase again.
