One of the screens came damaged, and I cannot figure out how to open up the window and none of the manuals or videos online speak to it

Our former manual Velux skylight screens could be removed from the interior, as needed for cleaning. Recently had several replaced with Velux Solar Skylights and somehow, the way they are installed is not enough allowance remove the screens from below. Roofer says they can be removed from the top, ie from the roof! SO one has to climb a ladder to the roof in order to remove/clean Vellux Solar skylight screens? Please confirm ASAP if this is correct.

Installed the skylights when i put on my family room

I have only had my skylights in for a month but I love them. The snow sits on them for some time so they are not leaking a lot of heat. I did have a professional roofer put them in but with that said, not only did they complement me on them but they were easy to install and no leak issues. I would buy them again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had two old skylights that could open w a crank pole. Both beyond their life but not leaking. Replaced them w 2 silar powered lights. Look great and open and close better w the touch of a button. So nice! Also so clear and clean look great both inside and out.

We had 2 skylights replaced with M&M solar powered skylights. They were truly awesome. Very professional. Installers Sam and Dan were very respectful of our property. Kept us informed as to what they were doing. Very hard working men. Minimal debris inside and out and was cleaned by them. Highly recommend this company. Quality company, quality product.

Poor quality and bad customer service.

Online order was easy, unfortunately one was damaged in shipping, & had to locate/buy/ship another. Install was unevenful, but flashing kit, suggested online was the wrong one, & doing return/reorder. Online experience is great given closest store is 2 plus hours away by car.

Good product. Should include the flashing kit that is required for warranty instead of charging another $100.

I have 8 of the solar powered skylights with the partial light blocking shades. I did have some leaks in two skylights initially, but it was errors in the installation, not the skylight. I have had them for at least five years now and I can say that I absolutely love them. We live in the mountains in Utah so it is a fairly dry climate and cools off a ton at night. We have no air conditioning so we open all of the skylights in the evening on hot days and with a couple of downstairs windows open, the heat exits very quickly from the vaulted ceilings. We close the house up in the morning and it stays cool enought until we open the skylights again in the evening. Having solar make putting them in a breeze. They replaced the original non opening skylights. Now we have energy free air conditioning. Just don't evey open them when there is snow on the roof. We did that oopsy and man it was a pain getting it shut again.

We changed out our fixed skylights for the solar powered w/ solar powered shades. We can now control how much light gets in, but also open them for extra ventilation.

I’ve had these skylights for two weeks now, and love them! Super quiet and extremely nice to look at. My only misgiving is that the cold weather is now here, so I won’t be able to use them as much.

My roofer installed the Velux Integra KLI 310/311/312 (solar-operated) in both our master bathroom and great room. It makes the rooms so beautiful. We can easily open or close the shade. We love it.

It is a very nice product

Bought to replace an existing fixed skylight in our bathroom. Replaced with a solar, integrated shade and opening window. Love the ability to vent as this the ceiling in the bathroom is vaulted and accumulates moisture. Would replace othe skylights in house with another should we replace in the future.

Installed the skylights last month and we are thoroughly enjoying them. They operate smoothly, and the rain detector worked great when tested and then later when a rainstorm came, closing the windows automatically.

Love our new Velux Solar Skylight. Operation is easy but rather slow. Our old one was manual. We are sure to use this light more often now for better air flow in our house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They do look nice. The movement is a little slow during venting. I am impressed with how quiet they are. I am not a big fan of the remote(s), and the other options available.

Great product, room darkening shades are great as well as the remote solar blind remote.

I needed a new roof and decided to get 2 manually operated skylights replaced at the same time. These are on a high ceiling and so I got the solar operated VSS S06b skylights with blackout shades. The pitch on my roof was enough that I had issues with the rain sensors not always working and mostly only on one of the skylights. They use audible detectors that would not get triggered when the skylights were all the way open. My roofer and skylight rep both came out to move one of the sensors from the bottom to the side and the next rain storm, it did close. But then the previously closing one was not closing so I guess I will need that one moved too. As far as the skylights and shades, they operate slowly but is apparently by design to save the batteries. Makes sense I guess. I'm happy with the skylights and shades except the remotes. Each skylight and each shade come with a remote. And they are rather large so when grouped together, it's like a bank of remotes that I don't want on my wall. These remotes do allow you to program them so one remote can operator more than one skylight OR shade (you have to keep the same type devices on one remote so you still need to have at least 2 remotes). But that means you can no longer operate skylights or shades independently from the group. For the price you pay for the skylights, you should be able to get the upgraded remote for free when you buy more than one skylight.

Bought these for my beach house. Best change have ever made! The light and Control are awesome. I need to purchase a controller, but works well enough and is easy to use. The rain sensor kicks butt too!
