The pump was purchased to replace a 33 year old pump. It was a very good price, delivered promptly and was properly packaged. Installation was straightforward, though electrical connections were not given. Just connected the two incoming wires to the silver colored points using push on connectors and connected the ground wire to the green connector screw. Pump runs fairly quietly and produces adequate water for our 4 sectors of lawn sprinkler. The reason for the downgrade is this pump is not designed for outside use due to exposed ventilation holes in the casing. Although it is stated in the specifications it should be emphasized in the description. My solution was to build a small pump house to keep the pump dry which should solve the problem.

Excellent pressure and volume. I have it hooked up to a 1-1/2 system with 13 Maxipaw sprinkler heads and I could add more. I'm very happy with this pump.

Adapted to my existing system without any problems, after initial prime started pumping water immediately . Has been running 4 hours a day like it should , very happy with this product and it was cheaper then the last pump I had from a different manufacturer.

I like the fast prime feature and the way the new pump fits with few plumbing changes. I have not found anything to dislike aboout this pump. This pump has been in operation for two weeks with no problems. The pump puts out more water than I expected so I plumbed in a bypass valvue so we could water the garden with a hose without the pressure switch cycling the pump on and off.

The front casting cracked after a year and a half of use. Wayne Pumps refused to stand behind their product. I'm going to buy another Shur-Dri which has much stronger castings than this turkey. Wayne's customer service just gave me the brush-off.

Bought this pump to water 1 1/2 acres pasture. I run 12 sprinklers on a 2" main line with 1/2" garden hose as runners. The pump has the pressure to run all heads and will still will blow the mainline out it I turn off too many heads. Great pump from the money.

The pump arrived in perfect condition, in three days. After installing, it worked as advertised. I’m using it for a flood-type irrigation system. The pump is moving water through two, ¾”, 100-foot lines with a 10-foot rise. It’s then feeding a total of 12, half-inch open discharge lines, each with a small plastic valve at the end used to balance the flow. It’s producing a good flow at each of the 12 discharge lines. If you’re having an electrician hook it up, no problem…what I describe below is basic. But be advised that you’ll need some experience to hook it up yourself. The pump can be configured for either 120v or 240v, and switching between the two is easy with the instructions. But mine was delivered without a wiring compartment (called a peckerhead)…it just had two wires and a place to insert a connector or conduit nipple on the motor. What I did was buy a ½” close nipple, and threaded it into the back of a weatherproof switch box. I then took this assembly, and threaded it onto the pump. The wires that came with the pump were long enough to fish through the close nipple and reach into the box, so I could make the splices. As a benefit of using a switch box for this purpose, I was able to install a two-pole switch on the motor.
