Sounds like you have air in the lines & pump. Try this: Connect all hoses (infeed & high pressure hoses) but not the spray gun. Turn water on until ALL air bubbles have bled from ALL the hoses. This may take a couple minutes. Turn off water and connect spray gun - THEN TURN WATER BACK ON. Start engine. Pull spray gun handle and allow final air bubbles to escape. You may experience an occasional stall in pressure while the small amounts of air escape the lines. This is normal. Then you will have full pressure. Hope this helps.
You can’t just start it and expect it to run. You need to bleed the air out of the system. Turn on the water after the connection is made and bleed the water by squeezing the trigger till you had a steady stream.
Mine the same thing so going to return it and get with more psi
Possible air in the line. Before starting be sure to establish a steady stream of water thru the hose and spray head nozzles. Or there could be debris in the line. Remove the garden hose and check the strainer in the connection point to the pump.
Don’t have the unit in front of me but I know it’s over 3 feet probably more like 42 inches
