Stovetop Pressure Cookers

Stovetop pressure cookers are ideal for preparing vegetables and meats quickly and efficiently. They’re a powerful way to cook one-pot meals. You can also use them to make your favorite preserves like jam and fruit spreads.

How Stovetop Pressure Cookers Work

Stovetop cookers use a high-temperature, high-pressure steaming method to cook meat and produce. They take half the time of an oven or stovetop pan. This unique method allows food to retain its nutrients and flavors as it cooks, meaning your meals are healthier and tastier.

You don’t need to spend time checking in on the food or adjusting the heat. Simply put your ingredients in the pressure pot, add water, set the temperature, secure the lid and let it cook. A secure locking mechanism ensures safe and easy cooking.

Choosing a Home Pressure Cooker

Look for these features in a stainless steel pressure cooker:

● Large Capacity. To cook large batches of recipes at once, choose a pot that can hold 10 or more quarts.
● Dishwasher-Safe. Cut back on cleaning time by choosing a cooker that’s dishwasher safe.
● Heat-Resistant: Prevent burns and scalding with heat-resistant, easy-to-grip handles.
● Built-in Settings: Take the guesswork out of cooking and make your favorite pressure cooker recipes by using built-in settings. Make stew or roast a chicken with just the press of a button.

Multicookers and slow cookers are other tools you can use to make one-pot meals with little fuss. The cooking time, however, is longer than that of a pressure cooker.

Pressure Cooker Safety

Today’s pressure cooking pots have several safety features. Choose a model with two pressure-release valves and a locking lid. Make sure the lid sealants are always in place when it’s in use. For added safety, choose a model with an automatic shut-off feature. It will turn off the cooker if its internal sensors are triggered. Be sure to read the safety instructions carefully before use.
