Indoor Plants Can Do More Than Look Pretty

Air purifying indoor plants can provide lots of benefits to your space. In addition to adding beauty to your home, indoor plants can actually help to purify the air. Some indoor house plants are better for air purifying than other indoor plants. Air plants are small indoor plants that get most of their nutrition from the air and require very little water.

Succulents are a great choice for people who don’t want to spend a lot of time caring for their indoor plants. Because they live where rainfall is scarce, succulents store water in their leaves. Grown all over the world, these indoor plants are easy to grow and can survive dry tropical or semi-tropical climates, like deserts and steppes. They can also be grown in containers. ZZ plants are considered true low-light indoor plants and can grow with only small amounts of natural light. They’re ideal for apartments or office cubicles that lack bright windows. They have waxy green leaves that grow horizontally. Natives of eastern Africa, ZZ plants are drought tolerant and dislike high humidity. Don’t keep these indoor plants in a bathroom or next to a kitchen sink. We have a nice selection of medium light indoor plants as well.

Pet-Friendly Indoor Plants

Your cat or dog is bound to nibble on your indoor plants at some point. There are some species of outdoor and indoor plants that can be toxic to your pet when ingested. You want to be sure that the ornamental and landscaping greenery you bring home is safe for your dog or cat. We have a large variety of cat safe indoor plants and dog safe indoor plants to keep your pets away from danger.

Pachira aquatica is the scientific name of the cat safe plant known as the money tree. Money tree plants are a low-maintenance decorative tree that are easy to grow indoors. Kittens in particular are attracted to money tree plants for climbing.

There is a species of jade plant (crassula ovata) also sold by the name money tree, but this plant is not safe for your cat.

Aloe Vera Plants, Snake Plants & Other Indoor Plants

Known for its healing properties, you’ll wow your friends with our aloe vera plants. Aloe plants like light, but not direct light. A north or south-facing kitchen window is a convenient home for your aloe plant. Water them only when the soil dries out.

Like its name suggests, snake plants have spiky, glossy leaves that extend into the air. They make great indoor plants since they soak up lots of sunshine and don’t need a lot of watering.

Rubber plants can make a glamorous statement and are relatively easy to grow. Look for plants with glossy burgundy leaves. Rubber plants needs bright light to keep them looking their best.

Philodendron plants are branching plants with heart-shaped leaves. These indoor plants are a favorite for cubicles and dorm rooms. One of the most diversely used indoor plants, from hanging baskets to trellises, the philodendron is all about the foliage. Coming in a variety of sizes and types, philodendron plants are always quick to grab your attention.

Named for its coin-shaped leaves, Chinese money plants, or pilea plants, offer a splash of green color that can brighten any room. Monstera plants add color to spaces as well but are much larger indoor plants than pilea plants. We also carry fiddle leaf figs, which feature large, wavy leaves.
