Easy Ways to Spruce up Your Lawn This Spring with Vigoro
Thanks to all the prep work I did last spring and in the fall with Vigoro, sprucing up my lawn this spring was so much easier.
Lawn care and landscaping are definitely a learned process with its fair share of trial and error. After I assessed our lawn and landscaping once winter broke, I made notes of what I wanted to do to further enhance the curb appeal of our home.
Mulch in general is so important to help with the health of your plants. It provides protection from the harsh elements and helps to maintain moisture.

However, I decided that this would be the year that we would upgrade from wood to rubber mulch. Vigoro’s rubber mulch is made of 100% recycled material. Rubber mulch doesn’t attract bugs that could pose a potential threat.

And most important for my family, rubber mulch doesn’t allow for mold and fungi growth which reduces allergens.

Vigoro also has a 12-year color guarantee which is perfect because we have some pretty harsh sun and rain during the spring and summer months. Not to mention keeping the rich color year after year, I won’t have to worry about laying mulch next spring unless I want to add it to more spaces in our yard.
I added the no dig edging to the walkway of our home and it definitely held back all the mulch no matter the wind or rain we had over the year. Last year I added a raised garden bed and kept it far enough from the fence so I could walk around with ease to tend to all of my plants.

Unfortunately we had some naughty puppies who decided they too wanted to help with the gardening. I decided adding the no dig edging would be helpful to add reinforcement to the Vigoro raised garden bed.

Adding the garden fabric to the raised garden bed helped to keep other things from coming up through my harvest. I decided it would be smart to add with the no dig edging around the raised garden and also under the rocks I used by the downspouts last fall. I noticed that the rocks I laid to help direct the water from the downspout were sinking down into the dirt. The Vigoro garden fabric is the perfect barrier in your landscaping beds.
Now that I’ve added the no dig edging around the raised garden bed, I also added some general purpose rocks to help reinforce the raised garden bed walls and provide a better less dirty path around my new salsa garden.

Vigoro Fencing
To help deter our puppies, I added some small garden fence panels to keep them from walking behind and digging under the raised garden beds.

We’re still learning which plants work well at our home because of the amount of sunlight we get in certain parts. Vigoro has clearly marked packaging that helped to take the guess work out of which plants need a lot of sun and some not so much.

There were so many beautiful varieties of perianal and annual flowers to choose from to give us the vibrant colors we desired.

I love mixing colors and even adding in some hanging plants to give variety that I can change out from season to season. The Vigoro shepherd hooks are sturdy enough to handle the amazing planters I found.

Planting a garden to make produce food, also means it’s important to give the plants nutrients so they can flourish and grow.

My very first garden did ok, but after a little research I found that Vigoro has an all purpose plant food was my missing ingredient. I’m excited to try my hand at my first ever salsa garden.
Using Vigoro season after season and year after year has allowed us to drastically improve our lawn and landscaping from when we first moved in. Vigoro’s complete line of products found at The Home Depot has helped us set ourselves up for years of success. Investing your money in the right products
