You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before you choose a van.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
