Can I rent a moving truck?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go moving van, pickup truck, or flatbed truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You might also read our truck rental page to see if what you need is available at your local store.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a van.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
