When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you fill in the gaps in your toolbox and your garage. We're known for high-quality moving truck, power saw, and tool rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Edwardsville Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring them back when you're done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be in full swing soon, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's far less work than raking them into piles. It's also great to use on hardscaping surfaces, concrete sidewalks, and driveways. Choose from walk-behind, handheld, or backpack leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it efficiently. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated. Installing insulation keeps your home nice and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Heaters
There's nothing better than a comfortable room, so browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep workspaces, outdoor events, or barns warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We carry electric, propane, and gas heaters in various sizes. Pair this with some nice outdoor lighting, and you can extend work or play later into the evening hours.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's easy to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to check out the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I need to return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
