Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and have a sharpened blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
