Can I get my mulch order loaded into my truck?
Yes, you're welcome to pick up your own mulch. Even better, we're ready to help if you need it. After you buy mulch online with store pickup or purchase it in-store, go to the mulch loading zone or drive-thru if your store has one. An associate will load a small or medium mulch order into your truck or SUV. For very large orders of bagged mulch or yard mulch, delivery is easiest.
Does my mulch get delivered in a car?
If you have a small bagged mulch order, you can get it delivered to your door via a store-fulfilled local delivery service that uses third-party drivers. Your mulch will arrive in a regular car or van for just a $3 delivery fee. Yard mulch, also called loose or bulk mulch, will come in a truck. If you order a specific number of bags, you may qualify for free delivery. That threshold varies from store to store, but you'll be able to verify the cost at checkout.
Who qualifies for flatbed or large truck mulch delivery?
When you're ordering pallets of bagged mulch or huge quantities of bulk mulch, you'll be looking at box truck or flatbed delivery. Often, these are landscapers, serious DIYers, or Pro customers working on a major landscaping project. There's a minimum pallet order to maximize resources and usually a delivery fee. Orders that pass a threshold may qualify for free delivery.
How do I get rid of weeds?
Weeds are likely poking through in the garden beds, even if you put down mulch or landscape fabric to keep them at bay. Be sure to get them before the weeds' flowers dry out and drop their seeds. Pull weeds from the root in vegetable or edible flower gardens, and dig up the roots if the weed snaps off at ground level. If you choose to treat weeds with weed killer, find one that's safe for pollinators and pets — and wear thick rubber gloves and a respirator to ensure that it doesn't get in your lungs or touch your skin.
Can I fix scorched grass?
You'll need to rehydrate those roots. The solution for how to get burnt grass green again is easy: Fix the scorched spot with a good long drink, then continue to water it regularly. It should perk up over the course of a week. On the other hand, the game plan for how to treat grass from dog urine isn't as simple. As we stretch into the dog days of summer, your landscaping and garden will weather more sun than earlier in the year. That means you'll need to consider how to keep things cool with shade, irrigation, and proper tending. Just like we can get sunburned, plants can dry out, grass can get scorched, and trees can lose their leaves too early. We've got advice to help you, your lawn, and your garden make it through the hotter months with flying colors.
Lawn Repair and Patching
Burnt, or scorched, grass has a distinctively shaped discoloration that isn't green. It happens when a reflective surface shines continuously on your lawn, or plastic or metal sits on the grass and bakes in the sunlight. You'll discover it once you move something sitting in the yard, like a trash can. Car mirrors or windows can also scorch grass when the sun angle is just right.
Water burnt grass well and wait a week or so. You should see the signs of life returning by then. If it needs neutralizing after urine damage, you must replace the grass or use patch and repair seed to fix it up.
Whether you’re doing upkeep on your current lawn or patching the bare spots, keep in mind which type of grass it is and tailor your lawn care to it. Match the grass type to how much sun your lawn gets — or to the existing grass type if you're doing patch repair. Instead, they grow in a mixture of rock chips, perlite, or sand.
Vines as Decorative Shade
Plant vines near an arched arbor or trellis so they'll climb it and give you both shade and beauty. Choose vine plants that are native to your area. They attract pollinators and are a good choice for success. Grape vines are a classic option, but they take time to mature, so you'll have shade without grapes for a few years. Don't forget to match your vine plants to how much sunlight you receive, as not all of them thrive in full sun.
