Larry in the Hardware Section was extremely helpful. He went out of his way to help me find the correct size of galvanized nails. He also directed me to the exact location of where I could find the small containers to hold the nails. He was fast, insightful, and right on point, and I appreciated it!

Employee competence is all over the map. All were friendly, but it appears some were far better trained than others. I don't blame the employees for that. That is clearly a management issue. They need to do better at making sure all employees have the same answers to questions and follow the same procedures. Its not good if one employee can help me and two minutes later another employee tells me what just happened, can't happen.

Once you find the correct area you need, product and service are readily available - time is never wasted. For example, getting keys made was a breeze and they were correctly cut the 1st time.

The Reston store management really needs to take the time to have their teams routinely keep the store tidy, organized, and safe. This store is always unkept and carts/items strewn about the store. The lumber, lawn, roofing, trim aisles are consistently impossible to navigate, and forget trying to take your cart to fetch something. I mentioned this to managers, employees, and have witnessed other customers mentioning this often, and despite this the store never improves. there are a few team members that are consistently friendly, such as appliances and carpet, yet normally staff doesn't speak or ask to assist. The parking lot is a nightmare and needs to be fully re-planned for safety, convenience, and organizing cart corrals and loading. Dings on your car is a high likelihood! Frustrations usually high on drivers in the lot. C'mon management, give a little effort and you can make this experience so much better. Recent carpet buying with Rubina was great!

I've lived in Reston and shopped this store for 10+ years. I used to dread going there because it was always messy, poorly-stocked, and just plain dirty. I've definitely noticed strong improvement lately, though. Someone's paying attention to basic blocking and tackleing.

Employees were friendly and helpful. It was quick and easy to check out.

After several experiences at this store, I realize that asking for directions from an employee to the specific location of a product is a 50/50 proposition at best. Often they have pointed me in the wrong direction and wasted my time.

Terribly operated store. When you can manage to find staff they always seem confused. Such a shame to have such a poor customer experience in such a wonderful location in Reston. Avoid if possible go to Sterling or Chantilly locations instead.
