I found the appliance salespeople to be knowledgeable and really helpful. Also any time I need to find something or have a question about plumbing or building, there’s always someone nice to ask. And the customer service people are always really nice when I have a problem or a return. Even when there was a mixup on one of my appliances, everyone from the manager to the salespeople were super helpful and got it straightened out - above and beyond what I even expected.

I needed some plywood cut down, and there were no qualified saw operators available. We waited one hour 40 minutes for someone to show up. Other employees tried looking for someone to help us. An assistant manager tried paging for help over the walkie talkie. It turns out there were only 2 saw operators on the clock at that time, and both took lunch at the same time. There should be more qualified saw operators in the store. We saw people give up, leaving their wood on the carts. If you know what you need, it's not a bad place to get it. They generally have good inventory.

Customer service is not the greatest. Cashier, customer service is kind of rude and not courteous. When we go to the store, we are excited to build a project. It is discouraging to find uninspired people addressing your questions.... assistance is hard to get. The store is semi clean and organized

The great location and the size of the store and the parking lots made me a fast customer! I was able to get what I needed and leave the store with great ease.

This is a basic HD, no different from the others around the country. Today Nicole was quite helpful and I appreciated her attention.

Generally a Good shopping place but there needs to be more floor people to facilitate customers that need quick in and out

I think the San Rafael Home Depot is fantastic. If you know what you want to purchase, and frequent the store, it is easy to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They have a great selection of plants in the garden section, as well as a good choice of soil, etc. I recommend this store highly.

The nursery department under Charlie Rossi is exceptional! By far the best selection and plants in the county, maybe the entire area. The entire staff seems well informed and helpful.

I have been to that store several times the last few weeks. 2 weeks ago, an associate ANA yielded at me as I was not waiting at the right place for check out. She told me to move my cart 5 ft on the left to be at the right place. Nobody was there waiting and my cart was so heavy that I didn't want to move. I think a policeman would have been more polite and less agressive than this associate. Today I went back to the store. The same associate (ANA) came and start checking my cart like I was about to rob something and saying things like "did you forget the blue tape"? "What do we have in this black bin?" Don't forget to check out your beautiful flowers"? Seriously??? If you don't trust your customers, so don't have a self check out in your store. Harassing and mistreating customers should not part of your customer standard. If yes, your brand has a poor value and I shop in another store.

I recommend this store for its helpful employees. They help us find what we need, and answer our questions. Store is usually well stocked, always clean. I love the plant nursery, too!

Only because there is no longer another large format hardware store in Marin, do I recommend this store. It's really hit or miss with the staff. Some are very helpful but it seems that most would rather not make eye contact with customers. Lots of them walking intently down the aisles in their orange aprons reading their cell phones. Hardware/parts bins are frequently jacked up with wrong sizes put back in the wrong place. I understand that is usually a result of customers mis-filing, but it would be helpful if the staff put down their phones and spent more time putting plumbing fittings, screws, nuts, and bolts back in the right place. I came in twice to get a piece of pipe cut and threaded and there was never anyone there who knew how to do it. That's a pretty standard thing to need in a hardware store and the fact that no one ever responded to the "Customer service in plumbing" request was very disappointing.

Easy parking

My experience from this store has been mostly great. From Marlene at Flooring to her Manager and to Q at pick up and return, they are all friendly, professional, efficient and respectful. They helped without prejudice and urgency. They gave me their time and attention. My only bad experience was with their carpet installer, JW. On my install date, they no showed. When I called to inquire, I was told that the installer was out sick. I was also told that they rang me to let me know. Mind you, i was up at 5:30am that day with my cell phone next to me the whole time. If someone called, I would have answered. And to add insult to the injury, she supposedly left a voicemail message. Messages don’t just disappear from a cell phone. There’s a call log and voicemail box. Home Depot should have multiple installers. Customer shouldn’t have to lose wages just waiting on an install.

We were able to find everything we were looking for. I asked for assistance 2x while shopping and there was always an associate there. The check out process was exceptional with the cashier being extra helpful, getting us a larger shopping cart and while demonstrating a moderated sense of humor. GREAT shopping experience, even in a crowded store.

Unfortunately I have to go to Home Depot, it’s my only option. Service used to be very bad. I used to spend so much time in line and I could never find an associate to help me when looking for something. With the new self checkouts it makes it tolerable. But on busy weekend days, the garden main exit is an entrance as well. It’s so discombobulated with the large carts. There’s no order or direction and cashiers seem unconcerned.
