When you're ready to start your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you fill in the gaps in your toolbox and garage. We're known for high-quality moving truck, power saw, and tool rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Sherwood Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. Rent what you need and bring them back when you're done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow leaves away. Fall will be here before you know it, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on hardscaping surfaces, driveways, and concrete sidewalks. Clear your yard by using handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation keeps your home warmer during cold weather and cooler when it's hot outside, all while tempering your energy bills.
Heaters
If you dislike working or being outside in the cold, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because portable heaters have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We offer electric, propane, and gas heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours with the extra warmth.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and trucks ready for rental, with availability varying by store. Choose the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck Rentals
If you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we have just what you need. Our rental box trucks are a fantastic solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're all done.
Penske Moving Trucks
You're confident doing your DIY projects with The Home Depot. Do the same when it's time to relocate to a new space. We have Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings, from everything in a college dorm or small apartment to the contents of a 5-bedroom home.
How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
