Questions & Answers

Is this shed rain proof. Is there a chance the items stored could get wet or moldy?

Answer This Question

Hi Kathy, When properly assembled and all of the washers and weather stripping is installed according to the manual this should not be an issue. Some customers do go over the bottom edges with clear silicone as an added precaution. Water may enter through the bottom of the shed and your items may get wet if you do not have a raised floor. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to call us at 1-800-851-1085 (press 1). Thank you

Mine is pretty water tight. But I did seal it with foam sealer to be safe. Have not seen any water in shed yet. Been about 2 years now..Hope that helps..

Ours does not get wet or leak if sealed properly. As far as mold, living in Florida, we have not seen any. It does just have that “shed smell”.

      By|Nov 10, 2019

These sheds leak. You can apply silicon to all of the screws after assembly and it will leak less but don't trust it.

Yes, the shed can be moved, providing you have three or four people to move it. Otherwise you might bend the metal sides and frame.

We are very happy with the shed but the instructions were poorly done. We put in pieces upside down despite trying to be very careful. As a result we only have a shelving unit on one side. Pieces should be marked “this way up”. We also have a missing piece for the door lock so I’ll have to find a way to order that.

I bought this shed awhile back thinking that I wouldn't have to paint it since it was Galvanized metal. After three years it's got rust all over the roof. I typically try to contact the company first before complaining in a post, but in this case I couldn't find out the "Arrow" company website.

Hard to put together? Yes. Everyone who buys this says the same thing. So if you understand that and you have 3 days and someone to help you with the 300+ screws you end up with a decent garden shed. One thing that wasn't clear: There is a metal floor frame. You need to buy and put regular plywood down (not pressure treated) on top of it for the floor. When you are putting up the front corner pieces, make sure you put the extra holes facing the ground otherwise you won't be able to use the lower shelf. Funny the stock picture has it wrong too. Once you get to the end and realize it. There just ain't no going back...

                                        Not bad for the price
Prior to purchase, I read many reviews about this product. Most of the complaints said the instructions were poor, the assembly was difficult, and/or the holes didn't line up. The only issue I found with the instructions concerned the door assembly. The instructions and illustrations had the front of the door facing up when it makes more sense to have the inside of the door facing up since that's where you're attaching the hardware. Assembling the shed is complex and time consuming and is best done by 2 or more people although I built mine alone by using ladders and saw horses to support the sides. To tighten the hard to reach screws, I taped heads to the wall on the outside and tightened the nut from the inside. To ensure that the holes line up, It's necessary to keep the frame level and square at all times. Once it's level, it's will probably remain so. However it's very easy to knock it out of square. Don't skip the step of measuring assemblies as they are completed and verify the structure is square after each step. If all else seems correct and there are still holes out of line, it's better to use brute force to put them in place rather than drilling new holes. It's not a simple task but if you take it slow, follow the instructions carefully, and measure diligently it should go up without any major issues. The finished shed looks great and is already full on junk.

                                        Wonderful shed, horrible assembly
Even with all four included shelves installed, this handy shed still has enough space to fit 2 adult bicycles. The shelves are sturdy enough to hold flower pots, gas cans, or small bags of soil. It is great that the hangers and shelving are included with the shed. Assembly is not for the faint of heart and will probably take you at least 2 days. Generally follow the directions, but here are a few pitfalls: 1. Unless you enjoy drilling extra holes, don't install any wall panels upside down. The holes for the shelving should be at the top of the wall (shoulder level, NOT knee level). 2. Warning! During door assembly it is almost impossible to avoid cutting your hand when sliding on the top and bottom frame edges. WEAR SAFETY GLOVES. 3. My left door frame panel was 1/2 inch too tall for the door opening. The only solution was to cut the panel shorter using an angle grinder with a metal cut off disk. 4. None of the door frame holes were in the correct spot. To install the doors I had to drill new holes for the hinges using a 9/64" drill bit. 5. The thin metal sheet at the bottom of the door is too weak and tends to buckle. You can fix this by drilling extra holes through it and the sub frame then using screws from the provided "extra" bag. 6. The roof corner protector pieces are made of cheap plastic and break easily. 7. There is no floor included. To install a floor you will need to buy plywood and get it cut to the correct size.

                                          Diagrams could be better
It took two of us a day and a half to complete. Component parts (floor, doors and roof beams) were assembled on the first half day. Walls and roof went up on the second day along with the preassembled doors, shelves and tool rack. Do not start walls unless you have a full day to complete. It is like a house of cards until the shelves and tool rack go in. You must have plywood flooring down before you can start walls. Floor must be square and level or holes don’t line up. If you follow the directions you will have a surprisingly sturdy structure. Diagrams could be more clear.

Now that this is built it’s not a bad shed. It meets needs and is pretty much as stated. Constructing this took a lot of time. That would be ok, and I’d rate it higher, except that I think a lot of my time was wasted by poor and in some cases outdated instructions leading to long delays and rework.
