Can the hinged door be installed to up inward instead of outward?
The DreamLine Unidoor Plus Frameless Hinged Shower Door (Model SHDR-245957210-09) is designed to open outward only and cannot be installed to swing inward. This is due to both safety standards and design constraints, as an outward swing helps ensure quick exit in case of emergency and prevents interference with the shower pan or curb. What type of seal keeps water from escaping in between the door opening and the stationary side? Second question mainly to customers, DOES water escape in the "middle" in between the door and the stationary side?
Just a plastic strip and yes some water does get through. Not loving this door. Go custom.

The Unidoor Plus cannot be installed with a door hinging off of a return panel. This is only designed to hinge directly off of the wall with double studs. Does the shower door swing inward and outward?
The Unidoor Plus shower doors now feature adjustable hinges, allowing you to choose if you would like the door to open inward or outward. The hinges come to you pre-set by the factory to open outward, which is the recommended position. Should you choose to adjust the hinge to open inward, you will need to change the orientation of the vinyl piece that the door closes against, installing the flange on the outside of the shower. Instructions will be included with the hinge for changing the orientation of the swing. A simple adjustment is all that it takes to allow the door to open inward. What size shower floor do I need to get with these doors?
All DreamLine shower doors are sold to finished opening measurements only. DreamLine shower bases are installed to the studs, then your backer board is installed, followed by your tile or wall treatment. Our best advice to you is to purchase and install the correct sized shower base for your space and have it installed. Next, finish your walls and then measure for your new shower door. Your measurement will be less than the size of your base due to the backer board and tile. Once you have taken measurements at the top, middle and bottom of your opening, we invite you to contact our DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866-731-2244 to discuss this further.
