ECB Series Light Duty Stainless Steel Grade 3 Residential Cylindrical Storeroom Door Knob with Lock

The classroom lock is helpful for code compliance in commercial security settings. It is more versatile than a storage lock, because it can be temporarily unlocked for keyless ingress. Like the storage lock, the key is required to unlock from the outside, and egress is always possible by simply turning the knob. Nobody gets locked in. The difference is the key holder can unlock it for keyless passage in both directions, so nobody gets locked out. Note that by design, this version of the "classroom" lock cannot be locked from the inside. Construction is very sturdy, of commercial quality, and it is easy to install when drilling a new door. It comes with a heavy-duty striker plate that is drilled for only two screws. However, it is not an exact replacement for a standard residential doorknob assembly that might be found in many pre-hung doors. It needs about 1/4" more room from knob center to edge of door, where striker emerges, than what the standard measurement in the enclosed instructions says. While there is precise adjustment for door thickness, knob/striker distance is not adjustable like it is in some locksets, so double-check your measurements against the assembled product before drilling. You will probably need to widen both existing holes slightly when replacing a standard lockset. Overall, I highly recommend this product for use in appropriate commercial settings, with caution to the installer.

Very sturdy construction and easy to install. Mine did not come with faceplate screws, but as I was replacing an old one, I still had extra screws available.

My only discrepancy is with the online description. The Picture associated with the description on how they lock functions. They did not coincide with each other. The online picture showed non functioning knob.

Great quality and super stable,but every time you go outside do remember to use the key to unlock it ,otherwise you’ll lock yourself outside

Cylinder did not engage with knob. Needed to replace the unit.
