Questions & Answers

I will need to extend the length of the pump's 50-inch outlet hose for the siphon to work on my irregularly sloped yard--can the end of this hose be attached somehow to a 10-foot garden hose? Or is a garden hose diameter too big to maintain the siphon?
ByFeb 7, 2024
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

This hand pump comes with two 50-inch siphon hoses. A standard garden hose diameter might be too large to create a tight seal and maintain the siphon. You may need to find an adapter or a different hose with a compatible diameter to extend the length effectively.

Will this work against gravity. I Need to transfer liquid from a lower elevation to a higher elevation
ByAug 17, 2023
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

This hand pump is designed to work against gravity to a certain extent. The product details specify a vertical lift capacity of 4 feet. This means it can pump liquids upwards to a height of 4 feet. If your elevation difference is greater than this, the pump might not be effective.

Can I use Siphon King hand pump to move water from sending containers to receiving containers if sending and receiving containers are same level (floor)?
ByJul 28, 2023
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Yes, you can use it to move water between containers at the same level, but it will require continuous pumping. Since the pump operates manually, you'll need to keep pumping to create the necessary pressure difference for the water to flow.

Answer This Question

The specifications available do not list the inner diameter of the tubing. I can confirm that two 50-inch hoses are included with the product.

Will this run by itself once started, or does it need to be constantly pumped to move fluid?
ByNov 20, 2022
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

This hand pump does not run by itself. It requires constant pumping to move fluid. It is a manually operated pump, meaning you need to repeatedly activate the pump mechanism to create the suction and pressure needed to transfer liquids.

Triple the price
The same pump is at Harbor and Freight for $9 . It really pains me to see this

This is an unacceptable product. It is more suited to be a child's bathtub toy than for handling gasoline. The tubing is flimsy. The pump leaks. Pumping capacity is low.

    Crappy pump
Fooled me. The product looked good in the pictures but was a disappointment when it arrived. Crappy hoses and a cheaply constructed pump that delivers little squirts and looks unlikely to last more than a few months.

Siphon hose description was not explained well, it is too small to drain standing water out of an above ground pool.

The pump itself performs as described. The large diameter tubing that comes in the kit is absolute junk. It’s very inflexible and exhibits multiple kinks or pinch points because of the way it is rolled up in the package. After unsuccessfully attempting to use the tubing I visited a mom and pop hardware store where I was able to find suitable tubing for another $10.00.

no longer works at after 8 months
We used this pump successfully, once. The next time I needed to use it (8 months later), it would not pump at all. I sprayed in oil to lubricate the piston as the instructions suggest. Did not help. I dismantled the tube and ensured that the valves at both end are not stuck closed by pushing them open. Still no go.

Quit working in a couple minutes
I was siphoning water out of my water softener, and initially it worked fine. Then it just stopped and wouldn't work anymore. A total waste of money.
