Math - You have two walls in a circle so divide by 2 to get the thickness of each wall = .065
EMT is not threaded. There are "EMT fittings" which can join two sticks of EMT. These fittings are not designed to take mechanical loads like tension, and some of them are not waterproof.
Yes
Did you know that the top rail of chain link fence is 1-3/8" and 10' long. It will do the same for 3 to 4 dollars less? Also consider a chain link fence post which is 1-5/8" if you need a longer span and a little stronger.
Jean, This is metallic tubing. You are probably thinking of 1-1/2 in. x 10 ft. PVC Schedule 40 Conduit.
No. With its 0.065-in wall thickness, EMT can not be threaded. I think you will be satisfied with a galvanized steel pipe nipple. Home Depot has them for sale in various lengths in the plumbing department.
10 feet
No, but it will cut with a hack saw with out much trouble.
Depending on your soil conditions, EMT probably will not last long underground. If you must have metallic conduit, then you need "rigid metallic conduit" and appropriate fittings, probably from an electrical supply house.
yes it is ,but not more than 30 feet . any more you will have to use guy wire
