The last bundle I bought has 'made in usa' on the label. This brand has the embossed inch markings, too. I'd guess the brand varies per time and location.
It will work, but I wouldn't count on it lasting too long with soil contact even though it's galvanized.
You can bend it with a conduit bender. It's not easy, but once you get the hang of it...

Has the California warning on it. I'd guess it would be because of trace amounts of lead in the zinc plating.
Possible but htink of your environment. Other tall things around? Trees, swing-sets. Lightning strikes when the clouds are over-full of charge and ionize the air. When it strikes it's because the clouds say it's time, not because there's a metal pole, except by coincidence. Can ground w some3/16 - 1/4" solid copper wire down to clamp onto rebar driven 18" into ground. Google it. Do what Google says.
