A:  No. It is mixed grain.

A:  the previous answer is wrong. VG is a much higher grade than finger jointed. finger jointed is a mix of factory scraps glued together

Q:How do I purchase it? I don't obviously want cracked cedar siding at $16 a stick. How will we be taken care of for damaged siding?

A:  buy it at the store. inspect it before you take it home. that would hold true no matter where you buy it.

impossible to paint will bleed through
Buyer beware. This product is impossible to paint. It will bleed through everything. We tried five coats, we tried primer. We tried special base, and it bled through every time. Stay away from this product.

            Don’t waste your money
We had to reside a couple of places of our house. We purchased about 20 bundles of this. Striped the old, put of the new. Primed with Benjamin more trouble shooter, and painted with 2 coats. Wood bleed through the paint. Never had this problem with clap boards from a lumber yard. If you want you home to have tiger stripes, buy this. But I’ll tell you it garbage just like the rest of their lumber

The quality of this siding was terrible. I bought online and picked it up myself with other stock not really checking it out because in the past the quality was good. After getting it on the job I realized I had to return the three bundles I had purchased. The joints were all raised on one side, the grain was very raised and rough. I could not in good conscious use this on the job. When I returned to the store I wanted to buy replacements but the whole lot was unusable. Never had a problem in the past. Hopefully there is improvement.
