A:  Actual product thickness is .25 inches.

A:  If it’s not it’s very close. I use calipers when I really need to know but when I do my settings on my Cnc for 1/4 it always cuts it exact so it’s very very close.

I needed to make an access panel to cover a hole I had created when I needed to get at a plumbing vent pipe that was located in a wall in an upstairs closet. I cut the panel down to 12” x 42” and painted it white. The panel was thin, straight, easy to cut, easy to paint. It served my purpose just fine. Cost to complete task was reasonable and panel was good choice of material.

This MDF was just the right material for making lids for my metal bushel bins. Easy to cut, drill, sand and attach to the supporting 2 x 4 mounting bracket for the lids. Advantage of MDF over 1/4” plywood, no wooden splinters or tear out after cutting, just a quick touch up with a fine grit sponge sanding block. Recommend this MDF for interior projects not subject to moisture or contact with liquids.

This product was perfect for the risers on our redone steps. For $4.50 I made three risers... the pre-done ones (which need to be cut anyway) were the same basic material, painted, but $11 each.

I used the 1/4" MDF to renew some '70's kitchen cabinets in one of my rental units. This size, 24" x 48", easily fit into my SUV. I needed two sheets to complete my project. The kitchen cabinets were these brown flat front particle board, formica cabinets that looked really dated, but still funtional. I cut the MDF into 2" strips on my table saw and glued them to the doors and drawer fronts (1" strips on the horizontal drawer fronts). Primed and painted them with high quality paints. Turned out nicely. This gave the kitchen a newer Shaker style look. Now, I'm going to repaint the formica "butcher block" counter tops and epoxy them to make the kitchen look more custom, like granite.
