Are these pressure treated wood? I need them to hold drywall on basement brick. 2/3 of wall is concrete and 1/3 above grade is brick.can i use these?

Any suggetions on what to use directly in contact to brick? Also i heard that its a good idea not to insulate brick due to it may not dry when wet and damage can occur to bricks holding subfloors. Or can i use 1 inch rigid foam? Is that an option?

The low ratings are not deserved: These are construction grade furring strips not intended for use as door casing or toy shelving etc. When used as furring, any minor bow is easily pulled straight when attached to rafters, studs, etc. If you want interior trim or furniture grade lumber look elsewhere. As a builder I find these a good buy for construction use.

When I cut the straps I found some inner surfaces gouged, with severe bends, loose knots, and knots that spanned boards. The bundle was packed with the best sides showing. Some of the boards would grade as #3

Despite picking through to find the straightest for my project (not furring for ceilings, but struts for portable geodesic domes that require the best possible, I was disappointed with the “best” even after picking through. I have had better luck in past years at Home Depot.

I use this wood for small projects when I first started using this 2 years ago it was a decent product. As time went on you had to pick through to find decent ones for my use. Last visit was unable to find any good ones for project looks like they got a new supplier and I guess if you're using them as something that's going to get covered they are fine but projects they're unusable. Opened 4 bundles every board was either cracked, split, huge knots that went across board warping them, holes from where knots were or just milled gouges in them. Went to 1x4 furring strip to get boards that I could use got 10 boards after digging through 100 of them looks like same supplier.

I understand that because they are furring strips they are not a good grade of lumber, but some use them as trim when 1x4's or 1x6's are not in the budget. When using as trim, there is a lot of waste because of knots, splits, bows and bark.

I made a 7-panel screen wall with it to seclude a cat I recently adopted, so that he could have is own room (the house only has a loft). Next project: build a cabinet for my camp using furring strip.
