Hi Jack, Please contact your local Home Depot store to see if the manufacturer could custom-build the slats that you need.

how much weight can they hold?

Asked by Bina December 22, 2020

Bina, Slats help with weight distribution throughout the mattress so that you're not sinking into it. This 7-pack of slats will support 500 pounds; that is, occupants of the bed plus the mattress should not exceed 500 pounds. If so, we suggest that you purchase a second pack.

Probably not, I had to order them. They came in quickly.

Can these be used with a mattress alone? In other words in lieu of a boxspring?

Asked by YYoung July 6, 2020

I don't see why not... these slats are for holding up mattresses and box springs, so it should be okay to use with a mattress alone.

Can these be used under a mattress on the floor to provide ventilation?

Be careful! Unfinished wood does mold and easy attract bed bugs, if painted is okay not for too long, it will need a refresher coat of paint every year to prevent molding, you really need a space between the mattress and the floor to prevent molding.

The slats were strait with the exception of one that had a slight bend. They installed perfectly dropped them in place on the frame and lowered the mattress into place. It was a two minute job because it took me a minute to find scissors to cut the strap holding the boards together. Exactly the length and width.

Is the wood treated or untreated?

Untreated. Sanded very smooth.

Bought this and put it under my mattress and the wood snapped in one day. I am a 100 lb girl so there is no reason for the wood to be breaking with literally zero wear and tear. Very disappointing. As you can tell by my photo this is not a quality piece of wood nor was it screened for quality control. I would like a partial refund so I can purchase a new panel

Looks good but bad in quality
Thanks for delivering the product at my house. They were all uniform in shape, everything was good.I would have been extremely satisfied with my experience if one of the boards would not have broken on the very first day. I was really disappointed when I heard that cracking sound after I sat on it for the first time and then I figured out one of the boards was broken. I hope the seller will take a note of it.P.S. I weigh less than 160 lbs.

It has worked very well and no problems with the structure of the wood or weaknesses.

We purchased a new bed that is the type not needing a box springs. So... I needed more slats to ensure a solid base. Having a terribly busy week ahead of me I purchased this pack, thinking a quick delivery and install would be easier than dragging stuff out of the garage to set up a temporary work area for cutting my own boards. I also thought it would be cheaper than having a local provider cut me boards. Wrong on all accounts. The shipment took two weeks to arrive. Then when I got them they were too short... 60" at the max for any board. That isn't necessairly a deal breaker but I did have to move my bed brackets in and shorten my existing slats. The really astonishing thing was the fact that they were not milled square. So 60" length to the longest point does not mean 60" across the entire board. See attached photo. Bottom line, waste of money, waste of time. If they don't care enough to mill these square one shouldn't waste their money or time on buying them.

I ordered this for my platform bed and then picked it up from the store. The order came in quickly. I got a good deal at the right time so I am not going to complain too much. However, the measurements are off. I did not receive 4", it was 3.5" wide. So I got 1in x 3.5 in x 5ft. I had to cut off an inch to fit my 59 in. width. I have a full size bed and didn't want to come up short. Some of the boards were warped meaning they were bent. This is raw wood it is not finished or rounded on the edges, it is sanded but there are rough edges. I suggest ordering two sets, because to fit a Queen/Full you will need at least 11 slats. The wider the slats the less you need. They should be ideally 2-3.5 inches apart again depending on the width and how many slats you use.

The wood bed slats were not uniform and were difficult to attach. Most barely were long enough to span the queen size bed that I purchased them for- with one board so short that it was not useable!
by HomeDepotCustomer
Too short!
These would be perfect if they were 1/2 inch longer. They consistently fall out of place because they only overlap with the bed frame about 1/4".
